YES! Right now, as a matter of fact. I have a serious cold that's making my head feel all foggy. BUT I have every reason to be in a super mood! This big grin keeps coming back to my face.

No. When I get sick, I do a damn good job of it. I've never been that happy, that I can remember.

Other: Getting a cold or flu doesn't really bring me down, I can still be cheerful when I'm snotty.

Maybe? I don't tend to get colds/flu... When I'm happy like that, it tends to be for short periods (a day or two). I'm not sure this question really fits me.

Cold and flu always bring me down. I had a cold on my wedding day, but it was clearing up so I was still happy.

Probably, although I can't think of specific examples. I'm assuming you mean I actually got the cold or flu. There have definitely been times when I was so happy that I wouldn't have minded a cold or flu, although I didn't get one.

Is there any specific reason for your big smile, or is it general happiness?

Happiness is a fleeting emotion and only intended to be truly felt in little bits and pieces, but it is truly meant to be felt by everyone. I know these words are merely semantics but I have been in joyful states through-out life...when I am in balanced and grounded and am grateful for all that I have. Because of these joyful states, I recognize happiness when I see it. If I was down, depressed and living with anger and resentment, I may not even recognize happiness when it comes along. I hear people say 'I've never been happy'...and I believe they just cannot recognize it.

This doesn't make a much sense to me. An emotional state of elation isn't going how crappy a cold makes you feel. They're two different sets of feelings.

Yes. Surely in my early 20s. I would say that that kind of happiness is coming back into my life. I believe that having a positive outlook on life pumps up your immune system and actually lessens the chances of you being struck down by a virus. All this to say that maybe when you're happy, you're not as likely to let a cold or the flu bring you down.

Here's some James Taylor lyrics for you....

Don't be sad 'cause your sun is down
You can rise above it
Don't be sad 'cause you're on your own
You have to learn to love it
Don't be sad 'cause your sun is down
You're gonna find your way
Don't be sad 'cause your day is done
There's another day, everyday

(Chorus)
Everyday I wake up just the same
Waiting for something new
Every night I have myself to blame
For the dreams that haven't come true
But especially today I'm feeling blue

Don't be sad 'cause your son is down
Little mama he's bound to feel it
Don't be sad 'cause your boy is blue
It wouldn't do to conceal it from you
Don't be sad 'cause your sun is down
The night doesn't need your sorrow
Don't be sad 'cause the light is gone
Just keep your mind on tomorrow and carry on

If it's actually flu, it would get anybody down. If you're not down, it's not really flu.
