| magbast | posted 24-Jun-1999 9:34pm just dig it out...or if i can, and i've had some bad ones in my time, just push it through and pull it out that way (used to get real bad metal splinters..occupational hazard) |
| mandy | posted 24-Jun-1999 9:36pm I used to be a big baby about them, now I wish I had one just so I could have someone dig it out with a shiny sharp tool :) |
| SueBee | posted 24-Jun-1999 11:03pm If it's in a place I can reach I dig it out myself, usually not bothering to sterilize a needle. If I can't reach, I ask my SO to help, and I supervise. |
| fooyun | posted 25-Jun-1999 12:21am I use my fingernail to push it out. |
| Jody | posted 25-Jun-1999 10:10am I try to sterilize and remove it with tweezers. If I can't, I put on bacitracin and a bandaid and it usually works itself out over the next few days. |
| dpolicar | posted 25-Jun-1999 2:00pm "nearest sharp object" is closest, though I'm somewhat more discriminating than that. |
| eris | posted 25-Jun-1999 3:49pm Depends on how deep it is, how thick it is, how much is sticking out, how strong it is, and where it is. Usually I try to pull it out first, and if that proves untenable I operate. Sometimes it's somewhere I can't reach, in which case I'll ask someone else to do it. |
| gilly | posted 25-Jun-1999 3:58pm If someone else is around, I ask for help. If not, I try to get it out myself with either fingernails, tweezers, or needle, depending on the splinter. |
| milktree | posted 25-Jun-1999 4:27pm it depends on the splinter. I've never sterilized the knife or tweezers to get one out. |
| drdt | posted 25-Jun-1999 4:45pm I lick at it until it falls out. |
| jjg | posted 26-Jun-1999 8:31am It'll eventually fall out of it's own accord. |
| kirst | posted 1-Jul-1999 9:38am Depends...if it's not too deep I use my fingers. If that doesn't work then I go the needle and tweezers route. |
