| Melf | posted 2-May-2006 11:51am Warburton's!
But, and I know I'm being morbid here, I hate looking at the wrapper. There's a picture of a kid on it, holding some bread up to his face, and two eyes and a mouth has been cut out of it. But whenever I see it, I just see the burns mask instead, from the pictures of the July 7th London bombings A picture circulated all the papers and news sites, of a woman wearing it. The picture: http://www.warburtons.co.uk/images/our_products/al... What it reminds me of: http://orig.jacksonsun.com/photogallery/20050707lo... |
| Jody | posted 2-May-2006 11:55am Arnold Beefsteak Rye (with seeds). |
| Amanda | posted 2-May-2006 11:58am I don't have a favorite. I usually buy the store brand. |
| Enheduanna | posted 2-May-2006 11:59am My absolute favorite bread right now is made by the Grace Baking Co., which I think is local. They have this sourdough bread made with wheat germ that is just awesome. For sandwiches, Orowheat "Health Nut" is my favorite. On the east coast, Orowheat is marketed as Arnold's. I also like the Trader Joe's Whole Grain bread that they have at Joe's in Boston, but they don't have it out here in California. |
| Zang | posted 2-May-2006 12:25pm I don't know what it's called, but I recognise it when I see it.
Okay, I hunted around on the Internet and found it. D'Italiano. |
| Zang | (reply to Melf) posted 2-May-2006 12:26pm Yeah, I can see that... |
| Melf | (reply to Zang) posted 2-May-2006 12:35pm It freaks me out, and no one else in the family sees it! Ah well, maybe I'll just have to close my eyes whenever I want a sandwich in the future. |
| Galomorro | posted 2-May-2006 2:10pm Noe Valley Bakery asiago cheese bread that used to be sold at Whole Foods. This brand is no longer sold there. I like homemade breads flavored with cheeses and/or herbs, like dill bread. |
| Enigma | posted 2-May-2006 2:46pm I like the bread I make in my bread maker. My little family likes it too but they also will eat the 60% whole wheat bread. I don't buy white bread. |
| cabinfever | posted 2-May-2006 5:03pm I like Snyder's Cracked Wheat (in the gold bag) or the White Enriched. Wonder has come out with a new white whole grain bread that is good, if only the WalMart here would get it back in. Franz Bakeries has a series of breads with special names after places in the northwest. There is one called Bainbridge Island that is a cinnamon swirl bread with some sort of crumb topping that is wonderful. If only someone here in this tiny burg carried some! |
| Bilateralkitty | posted 2-May-2006 5:35pm The brown stuff with all the grains and seeds in it.
Sort of like rye on steroids. Put Guldens brown mustard on it and 3 slices of cheese and 3 slices of pepper ham. YUM! |
| leahdoll | posted 2-May-2006 5:42pm The sourdough bread from the Souplantation restaurants. Does that count? |
| cerealkiller | posted 2-May-2006 7:16pm I look at "type" more than brand. Favorite - dark rye |
| ultamate | posted 2-May-2006 7:17pm the cheapest but that kind with the little girl on it is the best.( don't know what it's called, sorry) type I like best is white but I always get honey wheat. |
| RGirl | posted 2-May-2006 7:29pm Bread!? Ok, Bakers Inn. It has substance and doesn't squish down flat like bread that is too 'airy'. |
| LJD | posted 2-May-2006 7:30pm Ezekial, spelt is the best for me....HOWEVER, I also really enjoy french bread with oodles of real butter. |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 2-May-2006 7:52pm Roman Meal bread is the very best that you can buy in the grocery store for 3 or $4.00 for one loaf of bread and well worth the price |
| JessicaWoman99 | (reply to LuridHope) posted 2-May-2006 7:55pm > Petridge Farm
That is Pepperidge Farms and also Roman Meal these are the best of all the breads and for $4.00 is worth the price if you have money to spend on bread |
| JessicaWoman99 | (reply to Bilateralkitty) posted 2-May-2006 7:57pm > The brown stuff with all the grains and seeds in it.

| Tommyturtle40 | (reply to Melf) posted 2-May-2006 10:09pm I see your point, we saw the one picture of the lady, but never seen the bread over here in the u.s. I can see why you may not go back to that bread, i wonder how many other people picked up on that one. |

| ROCKMAN | posted 3-May-2006 6:13am I don't have a favorite. The brands I buy just depend on where I'm at and also what I'm using it for. I sometimes like the thick texas toast type. |
| Shadow_Matt | (reply to MiniMary) posted 3-May-2006 7:30am You do? Make me some when you get the chance. |
| MiniMary | (reply to Shadow_Matt) posted 3-May-2006 9:35am It will be my pleasure. |
| romkey | posted 3-May-2006 6:22pm Trukenbrod. It's from a local breadmaker, whole grain, very tasty. Most national brands of bread barely qualify to be bread... |
| Iseult | posted 3-May-2006 6:59pm Crispy French baguette. |

| Hans | posted 4-May-2006 6:42pm Normally we buy our bread at local bakeries, and many people do so in this country. There are names for the type of bread but no "brands". Well, you can buy sliced bread in plastic bags in supermarkets, and these are brands. I don't even know their names though. |
