 No
I think they should have more recognition than men's sports. Particularly that sport involving lingerie models on trampolines! |
romkey | | posted 28-Apr-2006 4:47pm |
I guess we've just given up on the idea of options in surveys... |
Enheduanna | | posted 28-Apr-2006 5:21pm |
Sure. |

In my perfect world, men's sports would drop down to the level of women's sports. Pro sports are out of control. They've lost something. I find local (high school or small college) sports to be more real and compelling. Less commercial too. And, local coverage includes a lot more women's teams. |
| dilfreak | | posted 28-Apr-2006 7:11pm |
Hmmm, they probably should, but i don't think they ever will have the same recognition. Except for womens soccer. In the USA, womens soccer is a bigger deal then mens. They've actually won a world cup, where as the men haven't. |
| Enigma | | posted 28-Apr-2006 7:11pm |
They will once they get more people participating in them and going out to cheer them on. It's all about money unfortunately. |
| dilfreak | | (reply to Zang) posted 28-Apr-2006 7:12pm |
ooooooooo i love that sport. Bikini mud wrestling is great too. |
| cabinfever | | posted 28-Apr-2006 7:17pm |
Yes, they most certainly do. I cannot finger out why women's sports aren't as popular as men's. Women are much more competitive and they work and play harder than men. I played fast-pitch softball for many years, and those girls can pitch that ball just as fast as any baseball pitcher. The games were much more active and fun to watch than any boys'/men's games.
Why is the rating on this so low? |
| RGirl | | posted 28-Apr-2006 7:37pm |
I would 'yes' but there isn't a 'yes' to .
Of course. And from what I see this is happening. There are some sports that I wonder if the sexes should be separated at all. Why do golf and tennis have to be separate. Does one really have the advantage over another? The young woman, well teenager, that plays golf...she rocks. |
| RGirl | | (reply to romkey) posted 28-Apr-2006 7:39pm |
Again, I asked for them. |

Whats this big deal about not having "no options" can't you think for your self??? instead of having simple options put there for you?? Like what the hell...it's a simple question.... |
llamamama | | posted 28-Apr-2006 9:50pm |
Sure, why not.
But they shouldn't compete together in things like football though.. |

I like options so I can, at a glance, see how many picked 'yes' and how many picked 'no'. Otherwise I'd have to get out a pad of paper and a pen and go through every response. It also makes advanced stats more interesting.

Sure, but I thought they already did have. But then I don't follow sports so really wouldn't know. |

of course |
romkey | | (reply to CGTREE) posted 29-Apr-2006 9:33am |
Maybe you haven't noticed that this is "survey central"... and the form of a survey is generally to provide a set of options so that you can quickly see how many people choose which answer. Why is that so difficult? |
| gsummers | | posted 29-Apr-2006 9:38am |
In an ideal world yes , yes they should.. but I dont think it will ever be as popular and as world known as the mens sports.. like all the mainstream leagues and such. But who knows! |

Yes... they should both have no recognition
Kidding.
Why should gender matter? |
| CGTREE | | (reply to RGirl) posted 29-Apr-2006 1:29pm |
Well alrighty then. I never check advanced stats...so I never thought of that. |
| CGTREE | | (reply to romkey) posted 29-Apr-2006 1:32pm |
Fair enough, But there are people who don't always use options and I don't think it's fair to them that people badger them about not using options. And even if you do badger them about it , it should be said in the "Unqualified." |
| miss_purp_sippn | | posted 29-Apr-2006 2:07pm |
Hell yeah women has to work just as hard at sports as men & so we should get the same respect & recognition as they should |
Melf | | posted 29-Apr-2006 2:52pm |
I might get slated for saying this, but I think it depends on the sport. In general, there should be equal recognition. But so far as I'm aware (And I'm probably not) men are stronger than women, and women are more... flexible. So men should get more recognition for wrestling or whatever, but women more recognition for acrobatics.
If I've got any of that wrong, I take it all back |
gambler | | posted 29-Apr-2006 4:02pm |
Yes, without doubt............ On this subject, what I find amazing is the women's US soccer team is rated the best in the world , but the men's team....... rate far behind the rest of the world |

There are surveys that don't have options, the essay surveys, but when some one asks a 'yes' or 'no' question it would be nice to have those options. And I do bring it up in qual, apparently it doesn't seem to have any effect. |

How about men figure skating do men really have a figure he he he hah" or a male Ballerina in a skin tight tights that crush his balls oh he he that is soo funny' |
JessicaWoman99 |
Men truly are much different then any woman and their idea of Sports does not compare to that of women and no we should not at all have the same recognition as our male counterparts, look at the NFL Football and you see just how rough these guys are and hurt each other and break bones |

| MiniMary | | (reply to godsangel1444) posted 2-May-2006 2:51pm |
Most women do not watch or even care about woman's sports (not everybody though) and I am convinced that men could care less about women's sports. It's not about recognition..more like, who's watching? Who cares? |

That is really up to the public to decide. I think the professional football teams that almost all colleges sponsor is a farce. Let it be a game, period. These kids are suppost to be there as students. Anyone who thinks a student athlete is a student will likely believe that the cars in a stock car race are "stock" cars. |

They should, but sports recognition is driven by the $$$$$. Until more people attend competitions, they will not get the same recognition. |
| clo8275 | | posted 16-Jun-2008 3:55am |
Yes. A sport is a sport, regardless of the player/players gender. It's not that womens' sports are not recognized any less, it's just not been promoted as much. Plus, it's not been around as long. I'm glad organized sport's that allow women to compete at all levels are growing. I'm sure it's just as fun and challenging to women. Now, they are getting more opportunity. |
