I have very low self esteem....

This affects pretty much everything about my personality. I expect people to not like me or I assume they are all making fun of me behind my back. When I'm in a conversation with someone, I tend to not say much because I assume that person doesn't really want to hear what I have to say. A lot of people assume I'm unfriendly because of this.....

High maintenance, I guess. I definitely like having things my way, although I am also capable of compromise. And despite being demanding, I feel like I also give a lot. I can also be insecure at times.

I am probabbly a bit of a ditz (go figure), and I lie as often as I can get away with (as long as it doesn't go completely against my core set of values).

I kind of used to be a doormat, but I improved a lot. Execpt that now I really want to stick it to the man and become a bit passive aggressive instead.

Of these? Gullible.
I don't know what you would call this but I am a bit of a chameleon and tend to shape myself to fit other people I like. I guess, by your definition this would be fake, but I don't think that is quite it. It's more of insecurity that a person won't like me as I am. I believe that is my worse trait.

I have a lot of this too. In person I am reserved and I've had many people take it as arrogance or being rude when really I'm sweating it & don't know what to say, then when I say something I tell myself that it was a stupid thing to say and I've probably just scared them away. Assuming people making fun of me is a big one. It is SO stressful going through life like that. I even have assumed people were making fun of me at my face, pretending to like me only to laugh about it later kind of thing. Do you have that feeling?

Impatience with people who do not follow directions or are just ignorant. The ignorant ones are the ones that want to argue a point when they have no clue what they are talking about.

I am often loyal to my friends to a fault. I will fight for their rights, their honor, and on their behalf. This often gets me into trouble as I will fight for them to the bitter end. * smile *

I dont have a severe case of Doormaticisticitus.. but I do have bouts of it at times... Im easily intimidated in certain situations, like in work and career settings.. Im the type of person that if someone bangs into me on the street, bar. hallway or whatever, its always me that does the ' Im sorry' even if it wasnt me that did the banging.. anyway I hate that...however as Ive gotten older Ive tried to over compensate by being too hard, but thats definitely not me so it never works, I just revert back to being the soft touch with a bit of the doormat still left inside.. Funny thing is, Im never a doormat when it comes to social interactions like with boyfriends ,family ,friends or any new people I meet... I'm very strong and direct and dont take crap from any of them.. I think Im one big contradition.

If you dont think being a doormat isnt a bad trait, then I bet you have never been painted as one... granted, its not bad like being an arrogant prick, or a pervert, liar, and so on.. but its horrible because, nobody will take a doormat seriously ever..
People feel sorry for doormats and then they turn around and use them because they know they are a soft touch -people pleaser.. no dignity in that.. and also Doormats are annoying because some of the really tormented bad doormats are often wishy washy and find it hard to even make their own minds up, they are too sheepish and passive. While I was never as bad as the symptoms I mentioned above, it still is a pain in the ass trait even if you are just a bit of one.. I'm glad that Im that no longer, but admittedly still struggle with it in certain circumstances.... your probably not a jerk and being gullible isnt so bad...
