| they | posted 15-Apr-2006 12:43am Just one?
I have this old WEBN radio station two button t-shirt that is about 15 years old. I don't wear it anymore, it's wadded (because it is beyond foldable) and packed away. I used to wear it every time I dyed my hair as a teenager... It's stained multi color and shredded.... it's so holey, it looks like swiss cheese. You can't even read any writing or see pictures. Weird that this survey came up.... I just found that shirt today. |
| RGirl | posted 15-Apr-2006 2:26am Old computer games. They are the kind where you go along and solve puzzles, like Phantasmagoria, The Beast Within, Myst, King's Quest. Most of these won't play on any of these computers. I got a dinosaur laptop to play them. I've finished them twice, so I already know where all of the clues and stuff are. The value they hold is that they don't make good games like this anymore and they are just SO cool. |
| Bilateralkitty | posted 15-Apr-2006 2:45am I still have a 1969 vintage B&W Admiral TV set (made by Hitachi) in the kitchen that still works. What is truly startling is that it has vaccum tubes besides transistors in it. It's what was called a hybrid type TV set, or one that had a mix of tubes and transistors in it, these types of sets were somewhat common in the late 60's up to about 1972 when all solid state TV's came out. When it breaks my guess is some collector will buy it off of me via e-bay as you don't see too many 37 year old TV sets still in use. |

| hypersky | posted 15-Apr-2006 12:54pm Funny the timing of this survey, as I am in the middle of spring cleaning. I don't keep anything that doesn't serve a purpose. I am no pack-rat, and I hate clutter in my home. |
| LuridHope | posted 15-Apr-2006 2:34pm I don't really have anything sentimental in my posession these days |
| cloudhugger | posted 15-Apr-2006 3:14pm One thing that comes to mind, is my dog's ashes. I don't want to "throw" them away, I want to scatter them. But I haven't yet, I just don't know where or when. It's a tough decision now. I guess I am not ready to completely let go. |
| Amanda | posted 15-Apr-2006 3:52pm I don't really have anything I should throw away. I used to be a bit of a pack rat, but have gotten over that. Now, I don't keep anything that I'm not going to use. The only thing that might apply are things Caleb has made or given me. A large portion of my hope chests holds things like this. There's a brown bag full of rocks that Caleb gave me once. Everytime someone sees it they think I'm weird for keeping it. But, it means a lot to be, because even though it's only rocks, it was heartfelt. He went outside and spent hours looking for pretty or weird rocks to give me, because I wasn't feeling well. Those kinds of things mean more than any other gift someone could give me. |
| LindaH | (reply to Amanda) posted 15-Apr-2006 4:05pm If you wanted to keep them forever and have them serve a practical use, constantly being able to see them at their prettiest (wet polished look) you could buy a portable babbling brook noise water fountain and use those rocks to enhance the babbling effect. |

| iamdonte | posted 15-Apr-2006 10:57pm My grubby jeans...I have a pair of jeans that are almost white they are so faded. The denim is thin and is beginning to tear on the top of the thighs and on the knees and the seams are wearing thin and fraying. I love those jeans....they are not fit to wear anywhere other than around the house, but they are the most comfortable pair of jeans I have ever owned and I can no longer find jeans like these. They are 96% cotton and 4% spandex so they stretch. The ones that I can get now are only 2% spandex. They just aren't the same. |
| RGirl | (reply to iamdonte) posted 15-Apr-2006 11:42pm A horrible thing has happened. My favorite jeans are getting holes in places it's not decent to have holes. The denim is thin and faded like yours. They are wonderful jeans but it is time.... |
| iamdonte | (reply to RGirl) posted 16-Apr-2006 1:07am yeah I keep hoping I will wear out my next in line to match these. Mine are getting holes in the same places I bet as yours, which is way I don't wear them out of the house anymore. |
| GLITTERBUG | posted 16-Apr-2006 7:26am My beat up big pink teddy bear that I had given to me when I was born. It's missing an eye, I cut his tongue out when I was like 7, he's missing large patches of fur, but he's still my teddy. By the way, I'm 32 now. |
| bill | posted 16-Apr-2006 8:08am I have a cheap plastic blue hair brush that I've had for about 25 years (since I was a teenager). The bristles on it are messed up as well. But, it's the best brush I've ever had. I've bought a few replacements, but didn't like any of them. |

| cerealkiller | posted 17-Apr-2006 2:46pm Why would anyone have something they "should" throw away?
Maybe the photos of my daughter-in-law when she was 16 and only wearing panties. Answered my own question I think. |

| Irene007 | posted 17-Apr-2006 11:09pm A piece of tattered cloth from my niece's "blankie". It was a small quilt my Mom had made for my doll bed that she adopted and dragged all around with her. It was falling to pieces and I saved a bit to give to her as an adult. She's 28 now - either I give the damned thing to her or throw it out!! |

It was the one we used at home, he got a new bigger one and gave me this when I moved out of residence to an apartment in Toronto. That was 25 years ago and it was at least five years old when he gave it to me. That tv moved from Hamilton to Toronto to Bolton back to Hamilton to an apartment and then finally to the house. I can't believe it survived! |

| ultamate | (reply to Amanda) posted 29-Apr-2006 9:50pm I don't know how big the rocks are but you could hot glue them to a picture frame and put a poem or picture of Caleb in it. I have a picture frame covered in small river rocks. I have an Easter picture of my son standing next to a creek in the frame and I love it. |
| Amanda | (reply to ultamate) posted 29-Apr-2006 9:59pm That's sweet. The rocks are all different sizes. At one time, I had them in a pretty bowl, on the coffee table. But, now, they're back in the bag in my hope chest. They've been there a while. There's a ton of them. The picture frame idea is cute. I could use some of the smaller ones to do that. Thanks. |
