| Glassa | posted 23-Mar-2006 6:38pm I'd say probably Abe Lincoln. He freed the slaves. |
| Glassa | (reply to Bilateralkitty) posted 23-Mar-2006 6:38pm And he put Japanese-Americans into internment camps. |

| hypersky | posted 23-Mar-2006 7:44pm Either Truman or Kennedy. Truman because he made the tough decisions to end WW2, and Kennedy because he had the nerve to stare down Krustchev and avoid a war. |

Okay, which of the various President's who have been shot do you mean? |
| bcollins | posted 24-Mar-2006 3:24pm That's hard to say. We've had over 60 presidents and I don't really know enough about each and everyone to say who is the best. |
| bcollins | (reply to mve17) posted 24-Mar-2006 3:25pm > The one who got shot? God knows
That would entail several presidents. McKinley, Lincoln, Kennedy, Reagan. |
| ElvisFan67 | posted 24-Mar-2006 7:17pm Well, I'm going with society here and say JFK--but he was before my time. I would tell you who my favorite President is in my lifetime, but I'd be afraid I'd be booted off of SC! |

| hypersky | (reply to mve17) posted 25-Mar-2006 2:44pm Lincoln, Kennedy and Reagan were shot (the first two fatally), and Ford got shot at. You may have had a point with great presidents getting shot with the first three, but Ford kind of screws up that theory... |

Here was a President and a Man who cared about Average Americans.
He was and still is the model Democrat to which others are measured.
