I think Wicksy is really referring to steve's survey here, not any survey I wrote - though it is flattering to be compared to His Wordness!

it depends on what age or maturity you are using for this survey!! if you are saying any relationship then it is a very high number, considering i'm just about 40 and i would start counting from about 17-18 yo. then the question is, what is "seeing them" mean? better parameters should be established here!

jettles : Include " ANY " relationship you have been in. I think that is specific enough.

Wicksy: I have relationships with five or six co-workers, a couple of dozen college friends, an ex-spouse, two project parters, two parents, an estranged sibling (so there isn't much of a relationship there I guess), enough random relatives to feel comfortable, and a roommate. And that is just today.

I originally thought you meant sexual/romantic relationships, which I can count on one hand, but now that you have broadened it I can't answer.

drdt : I do mean sexual/romantic relationship. If you read jettles comments, I was answering to her. ANY sexual/romantic relationship counts. There, that's more like it. Sorry if I have confused you !

...using a very liberal interpretation of "relationship", but limiting myself to counting one relationship per individual.

approx. 14 males and 2 females...I included people I dated/went steady with....one husband, my former lovers, and my current SO.

Two long-term relationships... and a couple others that were rather short-lived.

At the beginning of my sophomore year at WPI, I decided that I wasn't going to fall victim to the 5:1 campus guy/girl ratio. I had a girlfriend back at home, but we agreed to keep the relationship open to dating (not sleeping with, mind you, just dating) other people.

Consequently, I had an abnormally liberated college social experience, complete with a number of brief, meaningless, but very fun relationships. I'd go as far as to say that it was this very active social experience that has given me the confidence to stay loyal to the same girl for the past three years--I don't have any of that lingering doubt about whether or not someone out there is better, because I've played the field and I know that my S.O. is all that and a bag of chips...

I've had sex with many people but only been in "relationships" with a few.

On re-reading my last comment, I want to gag myself. I want you all to know I'm not normally that disgustingly sentimental.

I do not consider dating or seeing each other as a relationship. I only counted serious relationships.

Around six. But I would only really call 2 of them "relationships".

by relationship, you mean emotional attachments...feelings of love to some degree at least?
