My alarm clock works just fine and has the added benefits of being a radio and having a snooze button. |

No, I don't need a wake-up service. |

No, I don't need a wake-up service because I am the wake-up service in my household. I wake up my husband, wake up the kids, blah, blah, blah. I'm up before anyone, with the exception of some of the pets. |

At times if it were free, but when i'm asleep most of the time i do not hear the phone ring, when my dispatcher calls 40 times a day, i don't want to hear it when i'm asleep, so he threatened to write me up, so now i sleep with the cell phone 3 inches from my ear on the pillow |

Nah, I tend to wake up sooner than I need to get up anyway, plus the fact that alarm clocks are easy enough to use (except when you really need them, and then something goofs up). |

Yes. I would definitely pay some one to come in my house and pull me out of bed and prop me up in the shower. Then, maybe, I'd be able to stay out of the bed for the rest of the day. |

No. What a retarded idea . Do they not have alarm clocks you can just buy at a nearby store in some parts of the world that I don't know about? |

I own an alarm clock. |

SY, sometimes, for some people, an alarm clock isn't enough. If I don't fall asleep for the first half hour it goes off, I will try to do the math in my sleepy head and press snooze about 10 times thinking I'm ok. And I'm talking walking across the room to press snooze. I hate waking up & it takes me several minutes to figure out what the hell is going on.
Sometimes my girlfriend is there to pull me out. |

Ayyyaaayyaa!! I hate when people do that. One of my old roommates would hit the snooze button like 5 times before getting up which really sucked. And he had early ass classes too. If I wake up because of his alarm clock once, thats fine, I just go back to sleep. But then after waking up like the fifth time, its hard to go back to sleep after that. I wish he would've just woken up the first time around. But I digress.
The trick to get around the alarm clock snooze is to make your alarm loud enough to wake your ass up but too far to reach. Or at least put some barricade between yourself and the clock. That way you have to get UP to reach it, and then you won't go back to sleep.
The loophole with the phone would be to just hang up or knock the phone off the hook or lie and say that you're getting up. Having a gf/bf/spose wake your ass up would be the ideal and beat all of these except that many people dont have gf/bfs. Allthough it would be kinda creepy having a friend come over to get you up.

I DO get up & walk across the room to the snooze, but I'm not really awake and just stumble back to bed, usually thinking something stupid like, I'm just gonna lay here for a minute. I'm hopeless. |

No. I don't need a wake-up service. I use an alarm clock. And, if that fails, I've got a 6 year old! |

I don't need one. I'm up early every day anyway and am not on any set time schedual. |

What happened to good old fashioned alarm clocks? |
| tpstocks | | posted 27-Feb-2006 10:44am |
I asked this question because I am one of those people who sleeps straight through an alarm clock. Sometimes I am a 'Snooze Queen', depending on the alarm. Either way, the only thing that wakes me up without fail is a ringing telephone: I sit up, wide awake, and apparently I answer in two rings or less. |
| RGirl | | (reply to tpstocks) posted 27-Feb-2006 8:09pm |
I think its a great question. I have the same problems. Unfortunately I respond even less favorably to ringing phone. |

No, that's why God made alarm clocks and cats. |
cerealkiller | | posted 28-Feb-2006 2:26am |
Wouldn't work. We only have one phone jack - in the kitchen. Strange for a house under 20 yrs old. Bedrooms are upstairs. And, my wife hates portable phone and smashes them anytime I buy one. |

No, I'm not willing to pay for a service that I can get from my alarm clock or the alarm function on my cell phone. I have better uses for my money than this. |
