Sorry, not very original, but when I hear "Hawaii" my very first thought is my favorite pizza- canadian bacon and pineapple. If I think for a moment longer, I think pineapple, sand, and an ex boyfriend who was Hawaiian. butt-hole
I also thought of 'dabprovin'...

Other -- the ancient song-chants music I have loved since I was a little kid. All I have of it now are on very old cassette tapes. I taped old 45s and 78s onto tapes many years ago and still listen to the stuff when the mood hits me. There are a few CDs out now with this old folk music and hopefully they are going to continue to bring back more of it so I can get them on CDs -- even possibly the ones I recorded off the old records -- and I can update and add to my collection. I also like other Polynesian folk music styles -- throughout all the Pacific islands -- but Hawaiian song-chants are my favorites of all. This is mainly raw percussion with sticks and call-and-response chanting. There is also included in my favorites some fast "hula" music like one of my favs called "Ka Anoi Hula" which has some guitar music in it. Someday I will find CDs of all of these!

He wrote me telling me that he couldn't compress it enough to e-mail it so I told him that I would set up an FTP account for him to up load it - I've been so busy lately!

I just bought a house! Don't tell anyone yet until it's official - you see, someone else had already bid on it but hasn't found the financing for it yet and his time is up tomorrow. They had asked for an extension but the agent refused because I had a pre-approved mortgage and was a sure bet. The people selling the house have already bought their new one so they really must sell - they even accepted $500 less from me just because I was a sure thing... Little did my agent and I know but we had visited the other bidder's house, naturally, his is for sale too. He has little chance on selling it right now - it's a very small, semi-detached house built in 1998 with all the bedrooms in the basement (and itty-bitty too) with the living room and kitchen upstairs. A good "first house" but the worst is that his floors are unfinished in the basement and he had water damage because of our early spring. Things don't look good for him as far as selling the place right now so I don't think any bank is going to let him support 2 mortgages...
I feel bad for him but I feel great for me!!
So in the meantime Hush! I'll let you know what's up when it's official and then we gonna have one heluva PARTY! * evil smile *

When we went to her birthday party, we slept in while he cleaned the house (we were up until, Pffft! God knows what hour! We were rearranging the furniture to make the place more sellable- Hey! Did she ever get any offers for that house?). Then we went shopping while the strangers visited the house and then we walked in to the most delectable cooking smells ever - thanks to Ricky! Worst part is that I couldn't stay for supper so your Mom made me "un sandwich du tonnerre", while Lyne cut some hot, dried Italian sausage to snack on, cheese cubes, and your Mom added fruit and drinks... Jeez! You'd think I was leaving for Alaska! * grin * I love going there!! I miss 'em! And you too! Maybe this house warming party will get you all in my backyard! * wink *
