| LindaH | posted 6-Feb-2006 2:43am I haven't tried all of them or compared much, but I do know that Swiss chocolate is better than U.S. chocolate. |

Isn't there chocolate in chocolate flavoured ice cream??? But it doesn't give you hives when you eat it in ice cream form??? http://surveycentral.org/survey/23324.html No hives when you eat chocolate cake either, huh??? http://surveycentral.org/survey/23268.html That's amazing, RICHARD47! Bill... can you check busybakers IP address against Richard47? I think she's really a man. |

| nihon | posted 6-Feb-2006 4:08am I prefer Belgian myself. |
| autumnlight | posted 6-Feb-2006 4:51am The US is known for its chocolate? But it tastes like crap! Obviously being english, I like Cadburys. But belgian is probably the best. |
| jettles | posted 6-Feb-2006 5:30am Nestlé Italiana who makes perugina baci!!! |
| ROCKMAN | posted 6-Feb-2006 5:54am I don't eat chocolate much at all, so I couldn't say. |
| bill | posted 6-Feb-2006 7:13am England chocolate is nasty... Cadbury's had trouble being called chocolate by EU standards (it uses 5% vegetable fat).
I would have swapped England for Italy... I've had some good (but different) Italian chocolate... It's all kind of pointless anyway, though. For example, US chocolate... some/most is crap, but some is very good. We have some local/specialized chocolate makers who make excellent chocolate. But, then there's Hershey's which is crap. |

But, why bother? Everyone knows... you're Richard47. |
| Zang | posted 6-Feb-2006 7:41am I've never done side by side blind taste tests and I doubt anyone else here has either, but off the top of my head, I picked Switzerland based entirely on reputation (which probably comes from old TV ads or something...) |
| Zang | (reply to nihon) posted 6-Feb-2006 7:43am You're back! |

| darkshadowsseeker | posted 6-Feb-2006 12:21pm I don't know because I've only had chocolate from the U.S. and Switzerland. I have no scope of comparison with the other countries. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to FauxLo) posted 6-Feb-2006 12:25pm Maybe she uses carob. I know my sister does because she doesn't tolerate chocolate very well. |
| Enheduanna | posted 6-Feb-2006 12:26pm The best chocolates I have eaten have been from the US. But I haven't sampled enough of the ones from other countries to really say. I imagine the really good chocolates in other countries are the ones you have to go there to eat, not the ones you can get imported in the US. France is the only one of these countries that I've had handmade chocolates in; they were very good, but I've had better in the US. |
| teatree | posted 6-Feb-2006 12:46pm I rarely eat chocolate, so I couldn't tell you. |
| Danger | posted 6-Feb-2006 1:51pm I haven't had English chocolates, but out of the rest I've found the Swiss chocolate to be the best. |
| CGTREE | posted 6-Feb-2006 2:08pm Hungary, A country of central Europe.... I had some chocolate from there once and it was AMAZING!!!! |

| cloudhugger | posted 13-Feb-2006 10:28am It's hard to say. I used to think Switz was the best, then Germany rocked my rocker, to me it doesn't matter where it came from, but the quality of the list of ingredients. The best chocolate bar I had, I don't know where it came from. |

| clare | posted 14-Jul-2006 10:59pm I've only tried chocolate from the U.S. and Switzerland. If some kind soul would like to send me samples from the other countries so I can make a fair comparison, I'd be very happy. |
