| labjog | posted 2-Feb-2006 10:36pm I am not afraid to die but I am afraid of how my death would affect my children especially my daughter, she was very traumatized by her brothers (my sons) death five years ago, so I do worry alot about what my death would do to her, I also worry about them dying, I really dont think I could survive that again. OMG what a depressing subject |
| FauxLo | posted 2-Feb-2006 10:53pm Ha! Not at all. |
| Enigma | posted 2-Feb-2006 10:58pm No not at all. |
| RGirl | posted 2-Feb-2006 11:11pm I'm not afraid of death, but I am afraid of the process of dying. I worked with cancer patients so I've seen some pretty rough ways to go. |
| patarnone | posted 3-Feb-2006 2:48am I have no fear of death.
I absolutely believe in reincarnation. Anyone wanting to know more should read Edgar Cayce. http://www.edgarcayce.org/about_edgarcayce/reincar... |
| Hans | posted 3-Feb-2006 5:41am As long as we don't face it, it's easy to say "No". I might be afraid of being afraid of death, I'm afraid. |
| mve17 | posted 3-Feb-2006 8:11am Not at all |
| paulyw | posted 3-Feb-2006 10:18am Yes I had been afraid of death for ages. |
| caviartaste | posted 3-Feb-2006 12:14pm yes and no. I have already faced some pretty bad things in my life and I think I've made peace with the inevitability of it - now....I realize that I'm not invincible -something my younger self had no concept of. So I have a healthy fear, I think....a respect for the fragility of life. And yet, I'm ok with it whenever my time comes. |
| Enheduanna | posted 3-Feb-2006 12:29pm Yup. |

| xXUnbrokenXx | posted 3-Feb-2006 1:05pm The subject of death is a complicated concept. I mean... I'm not afraid of it.... but then again, I am. It's like... I get these thoughts of just doing myself in... but thoughts about the unknown come into my head... then I stop myself. I'm going through a very tough psychological war inside my head right now. |
| verouge | posted 3-Feb-2006 1:28pm My unreligious part of me is afraid, but not my religious part. |
| cloudhugger | posted 3-Feb-2006 11:25pm No. But ask me again when I am inches away. |
| cerealkiller | posted 4-Feb-2006 1:23am Mostly on an instinctive level. The body wants to stay alive. The brain, on the other hand doesn't care one way or the other. |
| CarolL | posted 4-Feb-2006 3:42am No, I am not afraid of DEATH, I am afraid of the PROCESS of death. |
| CarolL | (reply to cloudhugger) posted 4-Feb-2006 7:08am I think when you are inches away is going to be the time that you will be most comfortable with the idea. You will know that you are done...done with all the regrets, done with all the apologies, done with the mistakes, done with all the good you had to give, just done and out of time. Serene and thankful for what time you did have.
It is my belief that if that 'trip' is not contrived (as in suicide) it is the best one we will ever take. It is a one-time, no refunds no returns trip that is beautiful and the most individual thing we will ever endure. |
| gambler | posted 4-Feb-2006 6:32pm In what context?........... I am sure I could be put in a situation where I would be, but on a day to day basis, no |
| cloudhugger | (reply to CarolL) posted 4-Feb-2006 10:19pm Nice. |
| they | posted 4-Feb-2006 10:44pm Sometimes.
When I was very near to death in 2004, I was very afraid of it. |

| missglamVIP | posted 5-Feb-2006 8:01am I am not afraid of death..I welcome it with open arms if it is my time to go. I was a daddys girl and when he passed away 3 years ago a part of me died inside so Im ready whenever its my time. |
| gambler | (reply to FauxLo) posted 5-Feb-2006 8:49am Again, I explained why....I am one of the least Picky people here, AND i answered the survey.......but on a day to day basis, no |
| ultamate | posted 5-Feb-2006 10:38pm I've never been afraid to die except for the two times I thought I might die. The second time I was only afraid because I thought my son was too young to lose his mother. I don't think anyone can say they really know the answer to that until they’re faced with death. |
| longhaultrucker | posted 6-Feb-2006 5:41am No, i'm not scared to die, maybe scared of the way i will die and scared of going to Hell |
| Halifax | posted 7-Feb-2006 12:37am Nope. It happens to everyone and frankly, I'm a little eager to see what happens. Although I'm not expecting much. In fact, I'm expecting nothing. |
| Maarten | posted 10-Feb-2006 3:50pm Not death itself, but the way of dying. I'd hate to drown or suffocate. |
| cabinfever | posted 12-Feb-2006 1:20am Depends on when death comes for me. If it comes before my daughter is grown, I'll be afraid of it simply because I will be afraid for my daughter... who will raise her and protect her like I do? If I am old, sick, and becoming a burden to my family, I will do my best to welcome it with dignity. |
| Amanda | posted 17-Feb-2006 6:44pm No, not at all. I'm afraid of the pain my death would cause my son, though. |
| shorty189 | posted 19-Feb-2006 12:57pm No cause I know where I'm going after I die. |
| LuridHope | (reply to FauxLo) posted 4-Mar-2006 5:52pm Good, it may be coming to you sooner than you think. |
| Melf | posted 5-Mar-2006 5:14am Death comes to everyone and everything. It'd be like being scared of hitting thirty. Being scared of death will only make the experience awful. |

| ausfox | posted 8-Jun-2006 9:06pm I'm don't think I'm afraid of actually dying, but I am a bit afraid of dying suddenly and not feeling ready to die. But then, we don't really have much say in that, so it's not like I spend a lot of time worrying about that either really. |
