You BET!
Seattle is my city and I'm damned proud of our Seahawks! This is a decisive first for our team!
So, on to Super Bowl XL (40) on February 5th! I hope we remain undefeated!
I probably won't watch much, soon as we won the playoff, Alice got a call to perform at a private Super Bowl party!
I can't believe season ticket holders will pay $600 a ticket!
I'm not much of a sports fan, but this is special!

Normally, no I don't. But this year, my team has made it for the first time in franchise history!! I wish I had TV!!!
But I may drive up to my mom's and watch the game with her, if the roads aren't too bad. |

I don't even know who is IN the Super Bowl this year. Ahhh, the benefits of living overseas! |

If the roads aren't bad you ought to try and get to your Moms and watch the game. It's going to be a GOOD game I think. How far from you is your Mom? |

| FordGuy | | (reply to ROCKMAN) posted 24-Jan-2006 8:42am |
Oh I'll be drinkin' beer. My problem is, unless it involves horsepower (either the horse itself or an engine), I don't consider it a sport.
But don't worry about me. I'll be knockin' some back. If nothing else, the commercials are fun to watch. As far as who wins, no I don't care. If the Bronco's had made it I would root for them because I own 3 Ford Bronco's. And a few horses. |
| Wackadoo | | posted 24-Jan-2006 8:51am |
No, don't care this year. It's just a reason to get together with friends and party ... and that's reason enough for me. |

I here ya! I would have liked to see the Chiefs do better this year. All that really matters is that you have fun and get a good buzzzzz on! I don't really even care if I lose my $500 bet. |

No. The only kind of sports playoffs I ever cared about was the World Cup and how Brasil would do. I would still watch the latter if I found myself in front of a TV during World Cup time, like in a bar where sportsfans gather. |

No. I never watch sports of any kind so why should I once a year for some over-hyped deal? Most I'd do is Tivo the thing to watch the commercials. Hah, I'd fast-forward the game in-between the commercials.
Only other excuse to watch this is to party and get drunk which I don't do either. |
cerealkiller | | (reply to patarnone) posted 24-Jan-2006 2:48pm |
$600 a ticket is cheap. You ever try to get good seats to something like a Stones concert? They can easily triple their money if they wanna sell those tickets and stay home to watch the game. |
| patarnone |
Oh man, if I had it, I'd pay it to see the Stones! I can't believe people will spend almost 20K each for a sports thing, transportation and lodging included.
I solve everything by not buying. |
| patarnone |
Not to get off the topic, but I read in feedback about people filtering you! Shows how different we all are, you are one of my FAVORITES! |

Back home in my home town... 150 miles. Like I've said before, I wouldn't be so concerned with road conditions if it weren't for Deadman's Pass and Cabbage Hill. Nasty to drive in dry, warm conditions, let alone in winter conditions. But it's been a pretty mild winter so far *knocks on wood!!* so I'm hoping to make it... it should be a very good game, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Most of the time the Super Bowl is the Super Bore.
Which team, if any, are you rooting for? |
| shorty189 | | posted 24-Jan-2006 7:21pm |

He vocalizes what a lot of men sublimate. I think when you "get it out" you aren't as likely to act it out. And, I don't want to silence his view (and my take) on things.
Truth be known, there are a lot worse out there.
Seattle (well, actually Bainbridge Island HS) jailed a physics teacher for child porn on his cpu at home, then found more on his school computer as well as a hidden webcam in his classroom.
AND what about those SEAHAWKS!!!!! |

No it isn't, I see what you mean. I like to watch it with someone like my mom... she likes to watch the game, and she will get excited and holler sometimes, but she doesn't go psycho and break furniture. |
cerealkiller | | (reply to patarnone) posted 25-Jan-2006 6:57pm |
I tried to get Stones tickets, but cheapest were $150 each, and so far away from the stage they'd look like ants. So I figured screw it.
Same goes for seeing football in person. I would never pay to see any sporting event but I got a couple of free tickets from work once for a SF 49er's game. The seats were good but you can't beat watching it on tv. I ended up just looking around at all the girls the whole time. |
cerealkiller | | (reply to patarnone) posted 25-Jan-2006 7:03pm |
Some people can't handle reality or maybe they experienced trauma when younger. I suspect cabinfever from what she said had a child molester father. That's cool. (Oops, I mean it's cool she would object to me taking about screwing young girls)
Personally I don't much other use for a child. They're messy, noisy, emotionally out of control most of the time. I think back to when I was a kid and see how good my parents had it. I was an adult in a child's body. I never acted up,. never begged for things in stores, never spoke much, quietly played in my room or in the basement and was always the #1 rated student in school. All the deviate stuff I did to my sister, critters or inanimate objects was in private. Guess my sister liked it since she never told on me.
Hmmm, I wonder what snapped in my head to make me who I am? Maybe splitting my head open on the sidewalk at 3? Could be. |

Maybe nothing snapped. Perhaps you're exactly the man you were meant to be... and maybe you just didn't realize that, so it seems like something inside you suddenly changed, but in fact, you were traveling on this road all along. Or it could be the head shot you took at three...

Or maybe I just learned by experience that the "bad" things were and still are in fact more fun than a barrel of monkeys.
Hey, I just got a brand new Bowie knife collection off the internet - 13 of them. Also came with 7 swords. Pretty cool. Hard to conceal those of course in public. That's why I keep a surgical scalpel around. |
| Solololo |
Now why couldn't I have split my head open at three? |
cerealkiller | | (reply to Solololo) posted 25-Jan-2006 7:30pm |
See, I was playing with weapons even back then. I was sword fighting with a friend and was backing up and went backwards over my tricycle and split my head open on the sidewalk.
Hey, it was either that or the same day my friend's Collie dog got hit by a car. I watched the police come and the officer finish off the dog with his handgun.

Hear ya there, I do my fair share of man watching, too.
Back in the early 80's we got free tickets to a wrestling thing down at the Tacoma Dome (which my SO called the "tacky" dome) and that was a blast. I think that's the last sport/sport-entertainment thing for me.
I hope Huey Lewis and the News gets up here. He and Alice are long time friends and she'll probably open. Him I'd love to meet! |
| patarnone |
Killer, I think the people who have it the most together are the ones like you that can analyze what went on back when. Our whole "set to perceive" is set by the time we'll 11 or 12 at the oldest.
I chose not to have kids and never regretted my choice. I'm either too selfish, too realistic... or both! And ya know what? I don't care! |

Alice played with Robert Cray on his European tour, also. When Huey was starting out in Clover, they opened for Alice. Last year she opened for him! I answered the phone when he called, but didn't know immediately it was him when he asked for Alice... she says he is really a nice guy.
