| CGTREE | posted 22-Jan-2006 11:47pm I know for a fact that I see more men than women on a normal day....I am a carpenter so everyone I work with are all guys.....I wish they were all girls worked with but no, its the complete oppsite.....and then I come home and I only see one female...and its my mother. |
| patarnone | posted 23-Jan-2006 1:38am Being in the music business, I meet a lot of people. I'd say it's about even.
Of course, being a man loving woman, I like it to be biased on the male side. |
| autumnlight | posted 23-Jan-2006 6:41am Other - I haven't noticed anything |
| chol | posted 23-Jan-2006 8:29am Male births outnumber female births. For younger people, males outnumber females. However, men tend to die younger than women. So as you get older, there are more females than males. For middle aged adults, there are about the same number. |
| FordGuy | posted 23-Jan-2006 8:56am Men then women? Women then men? THEN?? THEN?? T H E N ? |
| bill | posted 23-Jan-2006 9:02am I fixed the improper usages of "then" (should be "than") in this survey. |
| thevelvetcure | posted 23-Jan-2006 9:08am More women than men, but then again, my uni, has a 3/2 ratio |
| Amanda | posted 23-Jan-2006 10:20am I see more men than women. I work for a police and security supply company. There are more men than women in police and security work, so obviously I deal with more men at work. Also, in my off time, I'm around more men than women, because I have more male friends than female friends. But, when doing the grocery shopping, I see more women than men. Men just don't flock to Wal-Mart and Kroger like women do! |
| Enheduanna | posted 23-Jan-2006 12:15pm I feel like it's about even around here. |
| Cain | posted 23-Jan-2006 3:54pm When I was at university, there were 40 girls in my class but only 4 lads. That's the only place that I've noticed a big gender difference. In everyday live, I feel that they are about even. |
| llamamama | posted 23-Jan-2006 5:26pm I feel like it's about even..'tis a school.. |
| RainingFeathers | posted 23-Jan-2006 6:33pm Nearly everyone I work with or go to school with is female. There are 2 males in my class, and 1 male is employed at one of the centres I sub at. The only other males I see are my relatives, boys in the day-cares, the occasional dad picking up their kid, and random strangers on the street. |

Thanks Bill! I have a list of surveys that need correcting... shall I email the corrections to you? |
| cabinfever | posted 23-Jan-2006 11:22pm Where I live now, the numbers are pretty even. Back in my home town, there are more women than men... several years ago, that area ranked tenth in the nation for the ratio of women to men... men's paradise! |
| Zang | posted 24-Jan-2006 12:59am I think it's pretty even. |
| bill | (reply to FauxLo) posted 24-Jan-2006 6:58am I should really deputize some people to fix minor spelling/grammar in post-qual surveys... |
| verouge | posted 24-Jan-2006 7:20am I don't know, but in life I see the same quantity, although statistics say that women are now more than men!! So men have the opportunity to have more than girl-friend in the same time!! |
| FauxLo | (reply to bill) posted 24-Jan-2006 8:09am I nominate Wolf359, since she can't go into Qual anyway. Sorry Kate... I couldn't resist. If you're serious, Bill, I'd help out. |

| Danger | posted 24-Jan-2006 8:31am Because I am a math major, I tend to have mostly males in my classes (engineers, CS, and other math nerds). Also, my school is dominantly male by a bit anyways. When combined, I really do feel like there's a larger number of men in the world, but not by much. |
| ROCKMAN | posted 24-Jan-2006 8:37am In my world of day to day activities and running around it's probably even over a months time. One day might be almost all Women and the next day might be almos all men and the next day wll be a perfect mix. Just depends on the days activity. I like this survey question. |
| jettles | posted 24-Jan-2006 9:22am i feel like there are about even men and women but i see more women for the most part at work and socially. |
| patarnone | (reply to bill) posted 24-Jan-2006 4:46pm > I should really deputize some people to fix minor

| SpunkyFidget | posted 25-Jan-2006 1:08pm For the job I have I see mostly women, there's maybe two other guys. And i'm fine with that. I can get along with women just as much as I can men. Sometimes I prefer one gender to the other depending on what I want to talk about cause I find that each gender can usually talk about something more to the extreme than it's counterpart. (I'm a guy in case anyone's wondering cause there's no pic) |
| Hans | posted 28-Jan-2006 12:46pm The answers should specify if the replying person is male or female and hetero- or homosexual!! |
| LindaH | (reply to Hans) posted 28-Jan-2006 1:03pm That seems irrelevant to the question. |
| FauxLo | (reply to Hans) posted 28-Jan-2006 7:49pm > The answers should specify if the replying person is male or female

| Hans | (reply to FauxLo) posted 29-Jan-2006 5:18pm I don't know why this is so difficult to understand: A male heterosexual person will have the impression to see more females than males, a female heterosexual person vice-versa, etc. What we see is a function of our psychic structure. It is rather naive to think of our perception as something objective. |

It is rather naive to think of our perception > as something objective. ...if you say so. I tend to be more observant than most, I guess. I don't see how this would alter the outcome, but perhaps you're right. Interesting! |
| Halifax | posted 31-Jan-2006 5:16pm Hm, the example changes the nature of the question. Technically, I see far more women than men. This is because about 95% of my co-workers are female. |
| LindaH | (reply to Hans) posted 31-Jan-2006 7:27pm Are impressions dont necessarily reflect our attractions. I don't see how they would. |
| Maarten | posted 10-Feb-2006 8:45pm Most of my friends and people I like are female, so yes. |
| teddybob | posted 7-Mar-2006 10:08am I have a lot more men for friends then girls. I like it that way. I don't get along with most girls that will. |
| thecomic22 | posted 17-Mar-2006 2:17pm i hang around an equal amount of guys and girls |
| Gomezy3k | posted 5-Jul-2009 3:17pm Seems like there are more men than women, but guess it is because men have to "fight" for women, while all a woman has to do to get a man is be available and shake her booty. |
