J Lo is a beautiful and extremely successful woman. I think that women in general are the most awesome of all the things God created, and I have a special affinity for what we would consider in the US to be ethnic minority women. Where I went to high school in Chicago in the late 60s there were many Puerto Ricans and I've been in love with the Latina look ever since, even though I didn't marry one. It would be fascinating to sit next to her on a long trip and get to know her, where she came from, what influences shaped her life, what makes her tick, just to become friends with her. Not to hit on her. I don't feel compelled to make love to every beautiful woman I meet, but I thoroughly enjoy having them as my friends.

The Dalai Lama - there would be a better chance that he'd be quiet on the trip.

I would would like to sit next to The Dalai Lama.

Bill Gates went to high school 5 blocks from my house. Since we're both from Seattle, we'd have lots to talk about.

George Bush if I was allowed to hit him as much as I wanted during the whole trip. But otherwise, the Dalai Lama.

Shatner. Definitely Shatner. I think we could actually chat. Most of the others... I don't think we could chat so much.

That's not an option. You must travel and you must sit next to one of these people. Get with the damned program!

Pretend you are on a train or a long bus ride, if you don't like flying. The main point of the question is the people, not the plane.

If Stephen King was an option, I would have had a tough time deciding between him and Bill. But then, on a long flight, I'd probably want to read. I might want to read a Stephen King book, but I wouldn't want either one of us feeling conspicuous. *laughing out loud*

Tell you that you're overcritical and that you should really use your imagination more and play with the survey creators rather than be so harsh.

This survey isn't about having your choice amongst any possible options. It's about having your choice amongst a limited set. Bummer if you don't like any of these people.

I dont think that I would have a problem with Bill Gates ON my flight. As long as he's not the one who actually designed the aircraft. Now that would be scary. Especially considering the tendency of things that he makes to crash.

I bet the Dalai Lama and Kofi Annan wouldn't be above talking to me and giving some words of wisdom. It would be nice to sit beside Bill Gates, because that would mean I'd be in his private jet, but he seems like he wouldn't be able to do anything but talk down. Hillary Clinton might have some humorous stories. Jerry Seinfeld and William Shatner would be cool because they are comedians, and the fame factor. I think George W is in the same league as Fidel Castro and Charles Manson, I think they are scary for the same reasons. I'd be giggling too much at the Pope's outfit. The other ones I'm just not all that interested in at all. Maybe if there were some hot girls in there...

Tom Hanks. I've heard he's a nice guy, and a serious thinker. Also, he seems a gentle man and a good listener; I wouldn't want to sit next to someone who monopolized the conversation. Of course Tom might just want to nap. That would be OK. I'm not a great talker and tend to be quiet with people I don't know well.
