No one, I never learned how to swim.

It was sort of a group effort. Various people tried (more or less unsuccessfully) for years. I finally just sort of got the gist of it one summer.

I don't think anyone did.

I don't remember. I think I taught myself, as I seem to recall swallowing and inhaling mass amounts of water, above anything else.

Lessons from high school swim instructors at, yes, the high school when I was about 9 or so.

I taught me. My mom did put me in a couple swim lessons after I started dog paddling, but I really taught myself.

I honestly don't remember... probably mama. I can remember being in a swimming pool at a hotel in Ottawa when I was six, my cousin was getting married and the family made a bit of a vacation of it. I love swimming.

I had swimming lessons when I was real little, maybe about 4 or 5 years old for a couple of years. I've always liked being around water. I also had lots more training in the USMC.I could become lifeguard if I wanted. I'd have to get recertified in CPR though.

My mother was a life guard when I was a child.

I had to learn as an adult on a 'Learn to Swim' holiday.

I stayed for a week in a hotel with two heated swimming pools with structured classes. It was fun and the best way to learn. Especially as all the other guests were experiencing the same thing and we all immediately hit it off on the first night at the welcome buffet dinner.

The 'teacher' was a 17 year old student girl who was earning money during the holidays. She was very brave to teach our group.

My older brother. When i was five years old he tossed me in our pool and than ran around the pool banging the edges with a 2"x4" shouting "Swim or die!" I sort of figured out how to swim and lived, but I still don't trust my older brother. The following year I got formal lessons at school that totally changed how I swim. Sporadic classes honed my swimming methods over time. Nearly two decades after my near drowning I swam for my college water-polo team. Did I mention that I still don't trust my older brother? Yeah, this wasn't his only act of cruelty.

My dad taught me to swim. He took us to the middle of the lake and dropped us off with out life jackets and told us to swim. My mom Jumped in after us to make sure we were all alright.
