I don't believe, but with the news coming out that, like Nixon, Bush has been using natioanls ecuirty resources to spy on PASCIFST organizations, I'm sure I"m on the new COINTELPRO watch list.

Not that I know of. I was indirectly involved with some things that might have led to a criminal investigation. I am pretty sure I came close.

I passed a month long ATF background check when I got my Concealed Weapon Permit.

I was sweating it, too, but anything I did was ages ago and pretty minor.

Actually its more "sort of"... When the Police showed up, there I was, a dead girl friend, drug paraphernalia, and guns... I was a victim of circumstances... Luckily the coroner ruled her death was an accidental OD and they didn't find any drugs just residue so nothing was proven...

I have also hung out with members of the Outlaws MC (Motorcycle Club) so there is a chance they are watching me because of that. Also I have a friend who has Mafia ties in her family... The Godfather Gambino came to her wedding not long before he died... So.... I figure I have my files being added to somewhere....

No I have certainly not. *wink* You aren't counting criminal background checks are you? When I applied for my handgun permit there was one of those but of course I am an innocent angel and nothing was found.

I have never ever ever been a subject before, and if you obey the law you may never be, break the law and you are in deep trouble

The way it was worded I wasn't counting background checks. I've had many of them done. I have a cwp I was checked on for and I've had a few others done for different reasons including the Military that I won't go into. Anyways I don't consider it the same thing.

It took you a month? When did you get yours? I've had mine for years and I also know a few people in the right places I guess.*grin*

They tell you up front that it will take a month for the background check. They do all the paperwork in Seattle, fingerprints and stuff, then send it back to Washington DC. Call back in 30 days and if everything's ok, pick up your CWP.

I got mine in January 2001.

I got mine back in 1998 and things were more relaxed back then I guess. I think I had to wait maybe 2 weeks, I really don't remember.
I carry all the time, even have the holder for a rifle on my horse just in case I want to do some hunting on the spot.

Yes. and I am still terribly traumatized. I about had a nervous breakdown and it still upsets me greatly to the point where I don't wish to discuss it.

No, I wouldn't count background checks. What I mean was if there was a specific investigation... looking at you as a suspect in a crime.
