No, and I don't celebrate Halloween. I like it that a lot of the rest of the city does though. I just don't any longer myself. There are few kids in the row of apartment buildings where I live. However, Noe Valley, another part of the city, is awash with kids, and merchants give out free candy to everyone on Halloween. Just over the top of the hill and down, you can then enter the Castro neighborhood where there definitely IS a big Halloween party, this time mostly for grownups. |

Yes, I've got 3 bags of snack size bars, Hershey's milk chocolate, Heath Bar & KitKat. I made certain that I got candy that my son & I like, because we didn't get many trick-or-treaters last year and, depending on the weather, the same thing could happen this year. We ended up with a lot of left over candy last year. |

That's the plan. I've purchased candy, but whether it will be yet another year without trick-or-treaters is another matter. Living in a rural area at the end of a long gravel road that's gated on one end isn't exactly conducive to attracting trick-or-treaters. I've haven't had a single one in at least five years. I'll probably end up giving it away after Halloween like I've done in the past. |

No, mainly because I dont celebrate halloween and secondly because real little kid trick or treaters that have cute costumes are too scared to come out in this area - a lot of scallie teenagers throw eggs at your house though. |

No; I don't think they come around in this neighborhood. I didn't see any last year. All the houses have gates at the front, which would make it difficult. It's too bad, because I love giving out Halloween candy. At my place in Boston we did it every year. |

No money no candy! |

No, I don't get trick or treaters. I live in a multi-story apartment building and, as far as I know, we don't have any children in the building. The front door has a security lock where you have to buzz people in, so it's unlikely that anyone will attempt to trick or treat at our building. I've lived here a few years and have yet to get a single trick or treater. I always buy a small bag of candy, just in case, but the last few years I've ended up taking it to work and sharing it with my co-workers. |

Yes, it's non-stop for 2.5 hours, hundred's of kids.
Handing out candy and glow bracelets, and terror for the teenage girls. |

no, i'll be doin' the trick-or-treating (at least with the kids) and then i'll be eating whatever candy they don't like. |
CarolL | | posted 27-Oct-2005 1:09am |
Nope, gotta take my kiddies out, can't be in two places at one time. Tried just putting the bowl out one year...it was empty by the time we got to the corner. Does no one teach their kids restraint anymore? |

No. I hate Hallowe'en --All Hallows [i.e., Holys] Evening---]because it's a greedy corruption of the once revered eve or vigil of the Feast of All Saints, a holy day in the Catholic Church. I don't think it is "cute" at all. |
romkey | | (reply to amdg) posted 30-Oct-2005 10:33pm |
Halloween is a bit older than the Catholic Church... |

| patarnone | | posted 19-Nov-2005 5:14pm |
We we all set to hand out unsharpened Halloween pencils, along with Bracht's sugarless, non fat gummy bears, but not one fudging kid showed up!
Alice and I were off in California, so probably had something to do with her husband, Jim, not having any lights on in the long driveway.
As she likes to say, "He sucks the fun out of everything!" |

I'm giving out apples with razor blades in them... like I do every year... Home-made cookies with arsenic in them... and nickels. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
I don't get very many because of all the HILLS, which is nice. I give out GOOD candy - full size bars, since I don't see many trick-or-treaters. I also give out good candy because I don't want my house to get toilet papered like the two times my house got TP'd the years my mother gave out "Nature's Candy" (*gag* RAISINS) and another year she gave out PENCILS.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHA!!! Yeah... she learned her lesson the hard way. |
| chunkylova | | posted 27-Dec-2005 3:00am |
I already did, we didnt get as many trick-or-treaters this year though so i ate the candy lol |
