| darkshadowsseeker | posted 26-Sep-2005 11:45pm I'm more of an "Oscar". My home is cluttered, but at the same time, it's a lot cleaner than Oscar Madison would keep it. And I don't use a tennis raquet to drain the spaghetti either. |
| patarnone | posted 27-Sep-2005 12:33am I can be as slobby with the best of them, but if in a nice place, I like to keep it neat and tidy. I'm more a Felix than Oscar, though I never watched the TV show. There must have been something on opposit.
I've found that picking up after myself as it happens is a whole easier than trying to clean up stuff later. I also prefer to wash up in the kitchen as I go. I'll let you in on a secret, it's easier to be neat in old age. |

| Maarten | posted 27-Sep-2005 8:37am Definately Oscar.
Great scene: Oscar Madison: I can't take it anymore, Felix, I'm cracking up. Everything you do irritates me. And when you're not here, the things I know you're gonna do when you come in irritate me. You leave me little notes on my pillow. Told you 158 times I can't stand little notes on my pillow. "We're all out of cornflakes. F.U." Took me three hours to figure out F.U. was Felix Unger! |
| Maarten | (reply to they) posted 27-Sep-2005 8:38am I guess we have to talk, honey. |
| paulyw | posted 27-Sep-2005 10:07am I am kind of in between. I like to have my car clean, and spotless. but I kind of throw things on the floor in the living too,. but I am neater then Oscar, but a little messier then Felix. I just toss my jacket, and tote bag on the floor, and nothing else. |
| Enigma | posted 27-Sep-2005 10:09am Oh hell I'm more of an Oscar than Oscar was! |
| Amanda | posted 27-Sep-2005 11:39am I lean more towards Felix. I'm not a total neat freak, but I do like things picked up. A place for everything and everything in it's place. Caleb's more of a neat freak than I am. It's funny because most mom's stay on their kids to clean up, but with us it's the opposite. He stays on me about everything being cleaned up. |
| icurok | posted 27-Sep-2005 12:07pm Totally Oscar. |
| they | (reply to Maarten) posted 27-Sep-2005 12:43pm yeah... I guess we do. You can change, right? Or maybe we'll just get a housekeeper... |
| leahdoll | (reply to they) posted 27-Sep-2005 6:29pm Agree! |
| RainingFeathers | posted 27-Sep-2005 6:44pm I'm definitely an Oscar. My mom is definitely a Felix. Our house looks a little bit odd. |

| kirst | posted 28-Sep-2005 1:42am I don't know...I can be messy at times (but not dirty), but I prefer it to be clean (although I don't alphabetize the canned goods, etc). I really don't want to be compared to "Felix"...yuck. |

| Danger | posted 28-Sep-2005 2:57pm I generally tend to be more of an Oscar; but occasionally I decide to clean everything, and when I clean, it has to be completely thorough. Everything must be spotless and in place. |
| cloudhugger | posted 28-Sep-2005 3:39pm Both, I am very anal about my dysfunctions. |
| CGTREE | posted 28-Sep-2005 4:26pm I like to have things clean and organized......but it always seems to get messy...then after a while of me not being able to move around in my room, I clean it. |
| jduPres | posted 28-Sep-2005 6:24pm I'm more of a Felix, but I'm also fortunate enough to be able to afford a cleaning service from time to time for the really big jobs like stripping and waxing the hardwood floors, cleaning the rugs, windows, etc. The smaller jobs I do myself. |
| LordOfTheBling | posted 28-Sep-2005 10:53pm As probably everyone else, it depends on the stamina I have that day to clean up. Living alone is controlled chaos that I can deal with in one evening, so it's not really an issue. However, I like the 'public areas' inside and outside to be ship shape... To reflect upon a clean persona. :) |
| Maarten | (reply to they) posted 29-Sep-2005 3:37am Don't you watch Oprah? You can't change people. Let's go for the housekeeper option! |
| they | (reply to Maarten) posted 29-Sep-2005 10:50am Oh, by the way... I want to quit working and become a baby factory... is that okay with you? |
| Maarten | (reply to they) posted 29-Sep-2005 2:18pm Whatever you want, doll. |

| bcollins | posted 1-Oct-2005 2:23am More of a 'Felix' but that's in part because I make myself keep things neat and tidy. When you live in a really small apartment, it doesn't take long for clutter to take over. I got myself in the habit of doing the dishes right after I eat, putting things away when I'm done with them, etc. If I don't make myself do this, it takes just a few days before my place looks even smaller than it already is. |
| ROCKMAN | posted 1-Oct-2005 6:58am I tend to be more of a Felix. |

| cabinfever | posted 7-Nov-2005 5:16pm I'm not sure... my definition of "ultimate slob" would be someone who never cleans house, has dishes with dried-on food on almost every surface, and irons his clothes instead of washing them. No way am I that bad, but I am not a clean freak either. I clean up when I feel like it or when company is expected. I don't leave dishes lying about, and my clothes are either in the laundry basket, my dresser, or on the box next to my bed. |
| verouge | (reply to cabinfever) posted 7-Nov-2005 5:20pm Sorry for this question, but I liked your pic, and this makes me ask you this, and pls don't take it so personal but:
"Who are you?" |
| cabinfever | (reply to verouge) posted 7-Nov-2005 7:31pm I'm not sure how to take this question. I've felt for some time that I am probably intruding on a site that is comprised of friends and people who already knew each other. Usually, a person will say, "Please don't take this personally" just before they are about to insult someone or ask a really personal question. My user page has all the info I am really willing to dish out at the moment. I'm cautious about that sort of thing.
As far as the pic, it was something funny that was emailed to me, it's called "If looks could kill". It's not a pic of me or anyone I know. I thought it was really cute and I didn't want to put up a picture of myself or my kid. |
| freebird | posted 7-Nov-2005 10:41pm I picked other because both are too extreme. I know one thing, I sure don't and can't clean as well as I used to. Hell I can't see that good anymore. |

I think you took my question very seriously, I want you to take it serious, but not in this way, you are welcome, and believe me, I wasn't a friend for anyone here till they knew me, I am a new user too here and I enjoy this site and passing the time chatting with these friends!! All what I am interested in is that, contrary to many other new users, you look like you are in this site from many users because you look so familiar with the questions, the forum, blablabla... And this is so surprising although you are one of the newest ones!! Again, you are welcome, and my question about "who are you?" was asking you to tell me about you, coz you look very interesting!! And I really liked the pic, BTW, sorry if I made some mistakes in english but this is because english is not my native language. What else? Can you send me this pic (the babies one)? I wish you enjoy your time in this site, and I hope we would make a good friend-ship like others.. Just a P.S: Always be yourself in this site as we all are here!!! Have a look on my User Page if you want (I am sure you did) Take Care, Verouge |
| cabinfever | (reply to verouge) posted 8-Nov-2005 9:07pm I thank you for your kind response. Life has taught me to be very defensive and to expect the worst of people. Sorry I came across so hostile. There's not much interesting about me: I'm just a trapped-at-home mom with a young daughter and a hubby who works a hell of a lot. I am on SC a lot because I've been having fun with "meeting" and "talking" to people from all different backgrounds. As far as being familiar with SC, it is a little tough to learn since there isn't really a help section that describes what all the sections of the site are for or how to use them, but I am making my way around.
Your English isn't bad at all... it's much better than a lot of the immigrants around where I live, who don't even bother learning the language. And you can spell! I'd be glad to email you that picture that I have on my user page. But can't you right-click on it and copy it to your own computer? Reply back and let me know, and I'll email it to you if you can't. I'll put something on the subject line like "cabinfever's picture" so you know what it is and who it's from. BTW, what does your screen name mean? I was also curious as to why you like my picture, it's not something a typical young guy would find cute. I love it for that pissed look on the other little girl's face. Sending good wishes, cabinfever |

About the pic, being a young guy doesn't mean that I don't like such pictures!! I liked that look too, that jealousy look!!! Yes, I saved it on my PC and it's ok now. I am not sure of your question, but I think you mean my User Name "Verouge", don't you? As you read, my name is Marwan, but my bro came up with Verouge which means nothing but a name, Armenian name, that he liked so he called me Verouge, and now most of my closed-friends now this name and call me by it. BTW, do you have job? And about that guide window you talked about, why not asking Bill about it, if he can make a small window for hence and directions!! I think it would be a good idea although SC isn’t that difficult thing!!! Take care, Verouge |
| cabinfever | (reply to verouge) posted 10-Nov-2005 10:24pm As far as having a job, depends on your definition. Do I leave home every day and work for a paycheck? No. But I am a mom to a three-year-old girl, and sometimes a 34-year-old man I totally admire the fact that you are so multi-lingual. I would love to learn Russian because I like the sound of the language and the looks of the alphabet. How hard was Arabic to learn? Good luck learning the oriental languages, I hear they are very difficult to pick up. I'm glad you were able to upload that picture. Have a good weekend... |

Good luck > learning the oriental languages, I hear they are very difficult to > pick up. > I'm glad you were able to upload that picture. Have a good weekend... One of the most funny things when using Internet is that damn "get-rich-quick" schemes, do not Believe them!!! I remember once they sent me for training in Biomedical equipments in Iraq during this year (where there are a lot of political problems and war there), so i refused although they put a sexy salary, but also I refused cause it's a risk going there... And I remember when I first finished my college, I was searching for job, so I opened the net and start searching (in fact start laughing and the offers they give for "getting rich"... Anyway, so far for that bullcrap of finding job by internet, about my languages, you go and learn the Russian language, it's something funny, I have two brothers living there, one of them is here now, but they both lived there for a long time, so they know the language and I cannot stop laughing at them, it's a difficult language and I tried to learn it but I couldn't! I don't know if you read my User page, but whatever, I am from the Middle-East where all people speech Arabic, so it wasn't about learning; it's about how an American baby can learn English. Don't care about it, it's not that difficult language, you stay here for a month and it's enough to laugh at you when talking in Arabic (just kidding), we do have experience in this here, cause my sis-in-law is Japanese and know she talks Arabic as a Japanese talking Arabic, it's so amazing when you learn a new language, I really enjoy when talking different languages, French, English, and now Japanese, you should hear me talking in Japanese (you will laugh a lot!! hehe)!!! Take Care, Marwan |
