Do you have a picture of someone on your desk or work area?

I'm assuming that most of you have desks or at least some place where you sit when you're online. If not, then just answer for any pictures that are nearby.

Believe it or not, I have pictures of my first AND second husbands. My current husband isn't thrilled about that.

On my desk, I have a picture of myself and a good friend. It was taken in front of the Statue of Liberty when I visited him in New York City and you can see Manhattan in the background. I love that picture.

and who needs pics on the desk? When I'm online, all my friends pictures are merely a click away :)

mandy: Good point! Although, I guess if you wanted to get really technical about it, your computer is on your desk and the pics are on the computer. Well, maybe that's getting a little too complicated. * smile * Speaking of which, I noticed that you don't have any pictures of yourself on your website??

I have a picture of myself skiing on a cork board, and I have a picture of Matt Damon and Ben Affleck as my wallpaper on the computer (does wallpaper count as your work area?)

I don't tend to personalize my workspace very much. I have a greeting card with "Bad Boys of the Arctic" (a photo of polar bears) on it, tacked to my computer, but that's about it.

Jason and I are trying to get a good picture of the two of us and if that ever happens, I may put that on my desk.

Oh, above my desk at home (where I am now) are two composite panoramas I've taken, one of Boston and one of Paris. And above that is a Carl Lundgren print. And hanging above the desk is a stuffed parrot.

On our desk is our grape iMac....a mousepad with this squishy little bump full of jell to rest my wrist on. On my right is a Magic 8 Ball and a set of headphones. The CD rack is full of discs(games mostly). On the top shelf is a notebook, a binder, a lamp with a nifty little pencil holder full of pens, a copy of The Devils Mischief,a tiny little book simply titled The Moon, a thesaurus, a regular dictionary, a dictionary of quotations and a small figurine of Mickey Mouse dressed as The Sorcerers Apprentice, his arms raised as if directing my mayhem ;)

I have mostly pictures of babies and kids (relatives send them to me in the mail, I don't know what else to do with them). Also a picture of Jen and I skiing and a picture of Iain Banks looking rather squinty and Scottish), and a wedding picture from my brother's wedding last year. All of these are on a giant corkboard to the left of where I sit at home. At work I have a photo-cube of Jen, Jen, Jen, Jen, Jen, and Jen.

I have a picture of my family, which includes my husband, his kids, his ex-wife, and her husband. It was a Christmas card we sent out a couple of years ago, signed "Erica, Emily, and their parents". I thought it was a pretty cool idea!

Iain Banks? Ooh, where'd you meet him? :)

I don't have any photos, just a Josh Kirby print, a Josh Kirby poster, a Josh Kirby calendar, an M.C. Escher print, a pop culture print of a bunch of Mickey Mouse dolls in a bowl, and an original painting used as cover art on an Australian authors book, currently sitting under my bed waiting to be framed :)

Next to my drawing table I have a neat picture of my two SO's playing with their new computers together. Next to this desk I have an etching of a sketchbook/nature drawing. So in way I suppose each desk has an element of the other expressed in the imagery.

I have a Home office. I replace the boot screen, plus screen, desktop, screensaver, and desktop with abstracted artworks every two weeks, with images that represent the people and realms I'm working on. I make various portfolios of life experiences. Every month my latest photos hang out around my workstation waiting to be scanned. Only the photos of my blood and adopted neighbor children stay on the wall permanently.

karmakat: too bad about your husband. People should realize that loving someone else is not an indication that you love them any less. I still love my first wife and my brother who are married and have a third child of their own now. I dont mind that my SO still sees her her prior SO, and just consider it another topic amongst our mutual growth.
