| Lizabeth | posted 18-May-1999 7:59pm Uhhhhhh, I really don't think so. |
| magbast | posted 18-May-1999 8:20pm what about an option for "no"...i couldn't do it... |
| mandy | posted 18-May-1999 8:30pm No! |
| karmakat | posted 18-May-1999 8:48pm I did that! It was a blast! Then I had sex with the instructor and his wife. |
| madamex | posted 18-May-1999 11:12pm I have always wanted to, but been too scared of getting rejected in a particularly humiliating manner (no, we don't draw fat women) to try. |
| SueBee | posted 18-May-1999 11:19pm My ex-husband asked me to do that back when he was taking a life drawing class, but I'm much too modest. I can't imagine being under such scrutiny, even if I loved my body. Besides, I'm always cold, so it would have to be about 95 degrees in the room for me to be comfortable! |
| pcpr | posted 19-May-1999 3:03am No, thanks... I'm easily embarrassed and, more importantly, I'd be bored to tears trying to hold a pose -- I can barely tolerate people photographing me and even that took an awful lot (I didn't use to let people take pictures of me). Not knowing what the end use of the pictures might be is also an issue... interestingly enough, it bugs me more that they might end up in a museum because the artist turned out to be good/famous than almost anything else. (Go figure! |
| bill | posted 19-May-1999 5:56am karmakat, was there a class of students painting you while you had sex with the instructor and his wife? |
| karmakat | posted 19-May-1999 6:32am Bill--no, the sex was after the class and after a couple of bottles of wine. But what a cool idea! |
| daver | posted 19-May-1999 7:27am Only if I can do something for those three hours, such as read a book. Otherwise, $50 isn't nearly enough for me to sit still for that long. |
| jonathan | posted 19-May-1999 10:24am If the rest of the class was nude, I'd have no problem w/it, otherwise I'd be a little hesitant. |
| dpolicar | posted 19-May-1999 4:08pm Nope, not worth it. I might do it for significantly more money, or as a favor. |
| milktree | posted 19-May-1999 5:06pm actively not do that? weird construction. |
| they | posted 20-May-1999 10:20pm Wouldn't pose, but I'd draw someone posing nude. |
| kadai | posted 21-May-1999 6:52pm I'd only do it if I had no other money options. |
| grmbrand | posted 24-May-1999 2:53pm I'd skip it, mostly as a favor to the people who'd have to stare at me for three hours... |
| eris | posted 24-May-1999 8:06pm I would like to do it, but I'm not sure I would make the time. I would be more likely to if it were a favor to friends, and if it were convenient. |
| lelle | posted 8-Jun-1999 6:23pm If someone asked me, I probably would. I'd be more likely to if it was at a convenient time and date than one I would have to work at being there for, though. With clothes or without is pretty irrelevant, provided it's not in public (if a painting of me is confiscated, it doesn't inconvenience me like me being arrested would) and the space (and pose!) is comfortable. |
| mandy | posted 8-Jun-1999 7:54pm actually .....I would, come to think of it,....When Hell freezes over and all the little demons go ice skating...yep...then I would, for certain! |
| supplicant | posted 8-Jun-1999 8:21pm You know the Norse Vikings believed that hell was actually freezing cold, so for all we know they're skating around down there right now *wicked grin* |
| mandy | posted 8-Jun-1999 8:43pm Naughty Supplicant...You will surely burn for that wicked comment..You see, I tend to lean towards the musings of Virgil, Dante, Milton, and Edgar Wallace. A nice warm fiery pit...ahhh! Anyway...those Norse Vikings also believed they looked like studs in those ridiculous horned helmets! :) |
| supplicant | posted 8-Jun-1999 10:40pm Well if you disagreed you would be chopped in half, so by a process of elimination they probably *did* look like studs ;) |
| SueBee | posted 9-Jun-1999 11:08pm Brrrr! I'd rather be in a hot place than a cold place any day! |
| lexxusm | posted 13-Jun-1999 6:39pm We are brought into this world naked and I see nothing wrong with posing nude. I would even do it for free. |
| quark | posted 14-Aug-1999 4:17pm I'm currently (OK not at the immediate moment - just recent and future off time) modeling naked & mostly naked. A local band want's to project me on a scrim in front of the band while they play. (They're gonna edit it so that my dangly bits don't dangle at the audience.) I've had people I've never met wander through while this is going on and didn't feel uncomfortable. |
| quark | posted 14-Aug-1999 4:19pm Oh yeah, I'm not expecting to be paid for this. "You'll be filming this one 'on spec'..." |
| Gamera | posted 23-Aug-1999 2:26am quark- they're editing the film stock, not your dangly bits, right? |
| quark | posted 23-Aug-1999 3:53pm topper: Yup, filmstock not the danglies. I've had enough dangly editing for a while... |
| yorricks | posted 2-Oct-1999 12:18pm I fear wearing spandex in public...nude? i think not...i think i have some body conscious issues... |
| mandy | posted 2-Oct-1999 2:49pm according to one of Brians older surveys...spandex is the reason we are all turning into lardbutts! |
| FrankT | posted 28-Dec-2005 6:12am Posing nude is something I would enjoy doing. It would help increase my self confidence and make me feel more comfortable with my body. I do not see this in sexual terms. It would have to be simple figure drawing or painting; nothing vulgar or unprofessional. |
| ron9272 | posted 30-Dec-2005 6:39pm I like art and enjoy figure drawing. The nude human body is beautiful and I have worked as an art model. |
| Lee55555 | posted 23-Jan-2006 10:20am Already done it, for three different artists, but always one-to-one, never a class situation. I enjoyed the feeling of helping to create art enormously. I always enjoy pushing my boundaries, so I would very much like to try posing in a class or group situation next, as I think this is the next level of challenge. |
| JayByrd | posted 17-Mar-2006 1:39pm Yes I would, and I have. |
| bandit68 | posted 19-Mar-2006 10:28pm Nude modeling is something I always wanted to do. I would not have any trouble being in front of one person nude but might be a little nervous in front of a class but would still do it. If your in south Florida and need a male model let me know. |

It is a myth. Moreover, in Europe we have always said that Finland will win the European Song Contest when Hell freezes over, and now they have won, so now Hell has definitely frozen over. You should call an art school right now. |
| mandy | (reply to krokimodell) posted 10-Apr-2007 1:32am If hell has actually frozen over...Albert Gore will only use that as another lame excuse to do another lame global warming movie.
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh |

| krokimodell | (reply to magbast) posted 16-Apr-2007 4:23am > what about an option for "no"...i couldn't do it...
What about "I would actively not want to do that?" |
| mandy | (reply to krokimodell) posted 18-Apr-2007 11:30pm Al Gore is Satan |
| krokimodell | (reply to mandy) posted 22-Apr-2007 7:50am > Al Gore is Satan
Yes. Al Gore is Satan, and Hell is cold like the vikings believed. The reason Al Gore is against global warming, is because it makes Hell be warmer. Hell is frozen over. Are you gonna call an art class or are you gonna call an art class? |
| Rosemary | posted 12-Sep-2009 1:43am I've posed for artists before, no big deal. I'd pose for a class too if asked when in a good mood |
