I wouldn't do anything that I wasn't doing already. I would be reminded of an anecdote my father told me years ago and if I was with someone, I might very well relate it.
Back when my father was working, he was at lunch with some coworkers at an Italian restaurant. One of the fellows used to always brag that he liked really hot spicy food. As in the story here, he was in the men's room when the spaghetti arrived. There was a bowl of dried chili peppers on the table, so the rest of the guys ground them up all over his food. My father said he licked his fingers afterwards just to see how hot it was and that it was unbelievably hot. The fellow returned from the restroom and ate his spaghetti without even blinking! The lads were suitably impressed! |

I would do nothing. I don't know anything about either one of them, it is best I mind my own business. |

I sure wouldn't stick my oar in like some mother hen. Ha that's their choice of friends after all! Of course I would think it's mean because I'm a sensitive person like that. |

I'd probably find it a little amusing. I wouldn't do or say anything. When the guy took a bite of his food, I might laugh, though. |

I'd sit back and observe. hehe, this is going to be good. |

I'd tell them to quit it... what a waste. |

Oh wait.. I'm not with these people? I'm changing my vote. |

Cerealkiller, I read your suggestions and edited my survey, and then something happened to my computer before I could finish.
I'm using a different computer now.

The same kind of thing happened at a job I had, only under different circumstances. A guy would always go into the fridge and eat other people's lunches. Someone planted a really spicy lunch in there, and he ate it without blinking. |

I'd let natural consequences solve this one. Maybe he is a practical joker and has done worse to them.....maybe he needs to get new friends. The bottom line is that it is none of my concern. I'd probably think it was pretty funny, depending on the demeanor of the friends. |

I'd think they were being mean. If they were seated at my own table, I would try to get them to stop, and I would probably warn the guy when he got back from the restroom. If they were not at my table, though, I wouldn't do anything. |

Was he like "the weird guy"? Or was that the extent of it? |
LindaH | | posted 18-Jul-2005 12:29pm |
Yeah. He was pretty weird, and a bit mentally slow. I think he knew he could get away with it for being dumb, though. |

I'd think they were being mean, but I wouldn't say anything, its not my business. |
EyesOfCharisma | | posted 18-Jul-2005 4:34pm |
I would have to run to the bathroom also... Since I would be pee'ing my pants of laughter... My friends all have done this, it is harmless fun |

Laugh. |

I would think that these 2 guys are from an exotic country that love spices and all available flavors... or maybe they are foreigners who've never seen salt and pepper before, and they're doing that as a ritual to cleanse their... but in reality I think this guy is trying to make a joke of it all but makes him even meaner and crueler than ever... oooh boy... |

Nothing just sit back and watch the show! |

I think it's a mean prank, but I wouldn't mess it up for them. Actually, I'd likely watch the guy when he got back from the restroom to see his reaction. |
| thecomic22 | | posted 21-Jul-2005 4:18pm |
i'd sit back & watch the entertainment. lol. |
gambler | | posted 21-Jul-2005 7:09pm |
Either.......... Nothing (as I would feel they knew their friend well enough to take the joke, or these are the kind of stunts they pull with one another) or I would say something to his friends like " Crap, thats not nice" |
| mve17 | | posted 22-Jul-2005 3:20pm |
id sit and wait for the guy to come back.. watch his face when he took a mouthful.. and laugh histerically |
| iwish40 | | posted 25-Jul-2005 2:00pm |
I'm not with them...it's NONE of my bussiness what they do. |
| Coco | | posted 5-Aug-2005 10:20am |
I would watch the reaction of the guy |
| gsummers |
Who am I to be that nosey! Its a practical joke amongst friends... I would not want to get involved in something that isn't THAT big a deal..the guy that left the table could just be a college buddy that they were just having a bit of fun with..now, if it was rat poison it would be a whole different kettle of fish.. ewww that would be gross too! Funny question though..good! |
| sexy1 | | posted 10-Aug-2005 7:52am |

| verouge | | posted 11-Aug-2005 5:10am |
Either nothing or I would give them more pepper!! |
| autumnlight | | posted 11-Aug-2005 5:13pm |
I'd think they were being arseholes, but it's really none of my business. |
| KimyouTeki | | posted 19-Aug-2005 1:01am |
Sounds like a simple prank, no big. |
| patarnone |
I might make a comment about the available spices. |
| Solololo | | posted 28-Nov-2005 5:45pm |
I'd watch to see if there was going to be a fight, so I'd know if I needed to leave or not. |

I'd figure they were playing a joke & it's none of my business. I'd do nothing. |
