No, the only window you can actually look into and see anything is downstairs at the front of the apartment in the kitchen and it faces the park. My son's bedroom upstairs faces the park, my bedroom faces the other half of the apartment block, but I only keep the blinds open just enough to allow the window fan to draw in air. You can't really see inside my room. We do have a sliding-glass patio door downstairs, but I don't consider that to be a window. Even if I did, it would be difficult for someone to walk by on the back path and look in as each of our patio enclosures is surrounded by a 6-7 foot fence with a gate and I keep a lock on the gate. The only others to have a key to the gate besides myself are the onsite property manager (and this is for emergencies only) and a key was provided to NW Natural gas to they can get in to read the gas meters (mine and my neighbor...who just happens to be our new onsite manager). Because of the overhang placed over each patio door, you can't really see into other apartments from the upstairs back bedroom.

We moved to a place that isn't near any neighbors. Before that, we didn't have a problem with it as far as I recall.

I never noticed. I know my neighbors, and they don't seem the type to do that.

No. Although in one of my previous houses, we did have a neighbor leave a mysterious note saying he could see one of us in the window. We could never figure it out, though, because all the windows facing that neighbor's house had shades that we kept closed.

Other: I have no neighbors close enough to do a window to window look-see.

I lived in a ground-floor apartment once at a major intersection and covered all my windows so nobody could see in. It was really dark, but at least I didn't wonder wonder all the time if I was being watched.

I live 1/10th of a mile from my nearest neighbors, so I don't see this happening.

It seems to me that the only evidence I would have that this was taking place would be that their behavior was directly mimicking mine. How could I know that my neighbours were peering into my window if I weren't peering into theirs? Wouldn't that make me equally as guilty?

I think it would be most evident if you were casually looking out your window, from time to time...looking at your garden, your new car, a chipmunk...and you 'always' saw them glaring into your window. Coincidence that the timing is exact? Doubtful. Peeping Tom's victims usually know they are the victims. But, I could be wrong.

Well, if you both happen to spend a fair amount of time looking out the window...

I've never noticed them doing it....but if I did, I would pull down all the shades on that side of the house and keep them pulled. They do need to know what I'm doing! ( I pretty much keep the shades pulled all the time anyway)...my house is a closed dark fortress... lol

Well Zang..try this: Get a small pillow (to use as a head), find a cheap wig and bunch up some blankets. Place this creation on a sofa....put a beer on a table next to it. Put on the TV so it looks like your creation is watching it. Make sure there is dim lighting...now, stand close to your window...and peek out to see if the neighbor is blatantly looking into your windows. If they are....ahah!!! If they are also peeking secretly in your windows (and you cannot see them)...then the answer to THIS survey question is "no". (How can you tell I have experience with speed? * wink * )

I suppose you could peek through the blinds too. That would be easier.

It would be funny though if as you were doing it, you noticed the neighbour's blinds move slightly and a little gap... * grin *

 * laughing out loud * , As I said...I have experience with 'speed'...which brings about this kind of behavior. * laughing out loud *
