Of the following "inventions" of the past century, which, in your opinion, is the stupidest?

This survey is quasi-humourous.

Viagra holds the record among FDA approved drugs of having the largest number of prescriptions written for it in its first three months on the market. I think that's brilliant, not stupid.

You haven't even begun to touch the outer edges of idiotic products, and some of your options are narrowminded to the point of offensiveness.

Personally, ice cream doggie treats have always done it for me.

The WB has Buffy and Felicity, so it's not all bad.

Actually, "quasi-humorous" doesn't do justice to the truly subtle, almost non-existent amount of humor to found in this survey. Cheers, Brian...

that would be "most stupid" and if you have to explain that it is quasi-humorous then it probably isn't!!!

What's wrong with Ritalin? My friend uses Ritalin, and considers it quite useful.

Jane: I was on Ritalin once. Trust me. It's bad. I mean, for so many years, we've been telling kids "Drugs are pollution." By by medicating them with ritalin, prozac and other stuff, we're saying "Drugs are the only solution." It's just a wrong thing we're doing to these kids.

Probably crack. Or maybe heroin?

Brian- I disagree with that completely. My friend has been diagnosed with ADD (attention deficit disorder) and takes Ritalin as a part of her medication. As a result of this, she is more focused and doing better in school. She does experience side effects, such as drowsiness. From my witnessing someone close to me using this drug, I don't consider it useless.

In 8th grade, I joined this club where we visited elementary schools and performed this little skit about the differences between "good" drugs and "bad" drugs. There are some drugs that will help you, such as pain medication, antibiotics, and, um, Ritalin. "Bad" drugs hurt you, and you shouldn't take bad drugs. (Sorry, I'm going in to talking-to-3rd-graders-mode) But anyway, I trust her when she says that successfully treating her ADD has helped her.

Crack was stupid too. I mean, who would do a drug named after a part of their ass? "Want some crack?" "No my own is fine thank you."

Brian: you're utterly whacked saying ritalin is bad because of the war on drugs... ADD, ADHD, etc are OVER-DIAGNOSED. That doesn't make the less real. My wife is on ritalin and it is extremely useful for her.

  • you seem to make your assumption based on little or no actual information and with little experience. Answer a few hundred more surveys and get a feel for the things that have gone on here at SC prior to when you joined and then see if you feel the same way about us needing to chill out.

mandy: I still say, it's just the internet. It's not brain surgery. I don't imagine anyone here would go up to someone in person and say the things said in here. That's the way I think about it. Would I say this to someone's face? If not, then I don't say it on the internet. If I don't like what someone says in person, I just avoid them. If I don't like it on the net, I just "filter" them. If I find it really bothersome, then I just turn off the internet and enjoy the real world. It just seems to me that all of this is supposed to be fun, but when more time is spent attacking someone instead of surveying, then the fun quotient runs lows.

karmakat - if you believe the folks here on SC are so dishonest as to make up stuff to say here that we wouldn't say in person, why are you even looking at this site?
