| Atzilut | posted 8-Feb-1998 12:08am ok, maybe the other alternative wasn't so faulty cuz this one is easy .. emotional hurts much much more |
| Beth | posted 8-Feb-1998 6:20pm Emotional pain is so much harder to deal with than physical pain. |
| Dahlia | posted 9-Feb-1998 3:49am Being one who was abused emotionally as a child, I tend to pick that as the most hurtful. I often wished that I would just be beaten, then my body could show to all the scars I felt in my heart. It can be very destructive and many do not take it as seriously as they should because of the fact that there are no physical scars. But in all, I would have to say that pain is a relative feeling and that it would really depend on the person. |
| gilly | posted 10-Feb-1998 1:00pm I'm more used to emotional pain, and I usually know it will pass. I don't know how to deal with physical pain as well, and I worry more about what it means and what it will lead to. |
| mozzer | posted 10-Feb-1998 5:11pm physical by far |
| RacerX | posted 12-Feb-1998 12:56am Emotional by far. My high school H20 polo motto was "pain = fun". Mental hurt is the worst. |
| Artemis | posted 15-Feb-1998 8:45pm Definetely emotional. I've experienced them both to the 3rd degree, emotional lasts much, much longer. |
| elijahblue | posted 28-Feb-1998 12:49am well, emotional pain can be intense, but at least you have some control over it, whereas if you are trapped under a wrecked car or something, you probably can't modify the pain that you feel. Also, I think emotional pain often makes us wiser, while physical pain often seems to be pointless. Artemis: Did you notice our great new spell-checker? |
| joe | posted 23-Mar-1998 2:23am hah! i love this question. i got beat as a child regularly, by lots of people, and i never cared. but not having any friends...i'm still dealing with that this minute. the answer is pretty clear. |

| jjg | posted 17-May-1998 7:29pm Physical suffering does not last long. |
| reality | posted 6-Jul-1998 4:19pm nearly all physical pain can be ignored.. then there is aspirin. |
| Lady | posted 8-Nov-1998 1:01am physical scars go away. Emotional ones last forever |
| phi | posted 19-Nov-1998 5:24pm steve: the hawaiian shirt, but I can understand your confusion. |
| eloradanan | posted 27-May-2006 10:53pm Emotional suffering. Physical suffering can often be alleviated with medical treatment. Sometimes emotional suffering can be alleviated as well, but not always. |
