I wouldn't even consider surgery, but I have been dieting/exercising to change its appearance.

Boy, have I run the gamut on this one. After years of disliking my body - sometimes intensely - I've now decided to love it completely, exactly the way it is. Sometimes I slip and think 'Well, I do love it, but I would like to change just this one thing.' But loving it in its entirety is more fun.

It depends on my current level of self-esteem and to a lesser degree my level of fitness and my weight.

I'm in detente with my body. Trying to change it makes me unhappier than learning to accept it. I think I'm much more comfortable with it since finding someone who thinks my body is a really fun place to be.

I like my body, I just don't like what I have done with it.

I just want to say that this is my first survey and I thank you all for the comments. I thought there wasn't enough options, but when I made it at 6am I hadn't slept yet and I could think. next time I'll make one after I've had a good night's sleep! :)

I like it better now than in the past when I was heavier...but I still hold myself to standards that are way too high and that can create misery at times....I snap out of those phases quickly now though.....I have pretty decent self esteem.....considering what I have been through and the self image I had in the past. I think once I reach my goal weight I will be quite totally satisfied. *smiles*

I'd definitely like to lose some weight, but while overweight I'm still extremely healthy and have no health problems associated with being heavy. I'd like it if I wasn't quite so sensitive to carbohydrates and processed them better. My immune system is great and in general my body serves me well.

I like my body, but I sometimes get really annoyed with it. For example, I sometimes get really painful side stitches when I run, because it seems like my body is too stupid to distinguish trying to take care of it from trying to hurt it.
Anyway, I try to just make the most of what I've got - accept the things i may not like but can't change (short, furry), improve the things i can (general fitness). I also figure that the day will come when physiology catches up with me, and it feels too much like work to stay in shape.

I wish I were taller (can't change that) and thinner (I work on that now & then) but I've learned to accept my body and don't find it depressing anymore like I did at one time. Good survey!

What would be the point in hating your body?

I would not have elective surgery to change my looks.
