| Updown | posted 16-May-2005 1:56pm No, but this survey question just answered a crossword puzzle clue from yesterday. Thanks. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 16-May-2005 2:06pm Can't say I have. What is it? I don't feel like clicking on the well provided links. |
| Enheduanna | posted 16-May-2005 2:21pm A couple of little things which I thought were interesting, more from a good-design-principle point of view than from feng shui. I've also found out that (coincidentally) some things I do are good feng shui--like, I have a bushy plant between my couch and the window, which is supposed to be good feng shui. Mostly I think it's a load of crap, although I find it interesting when it yields good design results. |
| bill | posted 16-May-2005 2:32pm It's more the other way around... I feel like I've been used by Feng Shui. |
| cerealkiller | posted 16-May-2005 2:35pm We use mirrors over our entry doors to reflect negative energy and also have a water fountain by the front door for financial prosperity. Don't know if they work. Ever notice how many Chinese restaurants have an aquarium or other water feature in the front entry area?
My office cube set-up is totally bad Feng Shui. Everyone has their back to the cube entry which is a no-no. A few have mirrors by their monitors to counteract this. |
| they | posted 16-May-2005 2:40pm Not really... although by bed does point towards the bedroom door... isn't that feng shui? |
| they | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 16-May-2005 2:42pm Oh good, I have an aquarium by my front door I have noticed that about chinese restaurants... never thought about it. |
| cerealkiller | (reply to they) posted 16-May-2005 2:49pm It's supposed to attract financil prosperity. I figure it doesn't hurt to do it. If it works, then fine. |
| they | (reply to cerealkiller) posted 16-May-2005 2:52pm I wonder what kind of trouble we'd be in if we didn't have the aquarium! |
| starrpickle | posted 16-May-2005 4:38pm HELL NO! Furniture Voodoo |
| Zang | posted 16-May-2005 5:14pm Not deliberately. |
| Matty | posted 16-May-2005 5:51pm No, my wife sometimes does a Feng shui check when she does a room over, but I could give a crap less about Feng Shui. |
| Hyena | posted 16-May-2005 7:38pm I keep it in mind - I purposely keep corners uncluttered and am conscious of mirror and bed placement. I think it makes sense (the stuff I can remember about it). I'm not interested in avoiding chinese style ghosts or anything. |
| darkshadowsseeker | posted 16-May-2005 9:34pm As I said on the other Feng Shui survey, it's a crock of crap...BULLCRAP to be exact! |
| southernyankee | posted 17-May-2005 10:35pm No. I just assume that its worthless bullcrap and arrenge my furniture the way that *I* want to. |
| freebird | posted 18-May-2005 12:24pm no |
| gambler | posted 19-May-2005 7:55pm No |
| LindaH | posted 19-May-2005 10:01pm No, unless I got an idea from a book that just so happened to be based on Feng Shui. I haven't used it for those baloney reasons, though. |
| nonamejj18 | posted 2-Jun-2005 5:12pm Im not gullible |
| sexy1 | posted 5-Jun-2005 2:50pm nope |
| icurok | posted 11-Jul-2005 9:55am Why would I use Feng Shui when *not* using Feng Shui provides me with another excuse for being tired and lazy.
"Sorry, I was late for work. My wardrobe is facing the wrong way and I don't have enough mirrors in the bathroom and don't get me started on the water feature in the garden, if I told that landscaper once I told him a thousand times, "North! Not East!!"". |
| cloudhugger | posted 13-Aug-2005 12:32pm I attempt to incorporate it everywhere I am. I am not good at it, I use common sense and intuition and I have friends who are proffesionals at it so I just ask them. There are so many different types of feng shui, some of which are so rigid I cannot use any of my furniture or my house for that manner. The type of feng shui that insists you throw it out rather than find a way it will work. We used some feng shui in the office, actually had someone set it up for us, and the business took off right after that. Coincidence? Maybe. But the concept of why it works makes sense to me. |

| they | (reply to cloudhugger) posted 13-Aug-2005 12:39pm what? |
| cloudhugger | (reply to they) posted 13-Aug-2005 12:49pm Sorry! Didn't mean to startle you! The bed, pointing at the door , I think is a feng shui no-no. I think it needs to be off to the side or something. |
| they | (reply to cloudhugger) posted 13-Aug-2005 1:44pm My bed is position C: http://www.dummies.com/WileyCDA/DummiesArticle/id-... |
| cloudhugger | (reply to they) posted 13-Aug-2005 6:51pm That is exactly how mine is. It is more comfortable than the way I had it. It just makes more sense. |
| patarnone | posted 12-Sep-2005 4:19pm Yes. I've been doing it all my life, but just learned it had a name back in the mid 90's.
Maybe that's why I enjoy being alone, I'm happy with my own surroundings. |
| jduPres | posted 5-Oct-2005 1:24am No, I think is bogus 'science' at best. |
