| Matty | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 23-Mar-2005 6:51am but does inner beauty get your heart pumping like large, undulous breasts? Seriously, inner beauty to me, is better suited to a relationship, and physical beauty is what starts the chemical reaction. When first meet someone, doesn't she have to be physically attractive to get past the very first stage of a relationship? |

| cerealkiller | posted 23-Mar-2005 1:17pm Depends on whether you mean physical or inner beauty. You can have one without the other, as is the case with my wife. She is an ex-model, always attracted the looks of men, some even trying to flirt with her with me standing right there. But on the inside she is a mean, self-centered dog.
On the other hand I've known people who weren't attractive at all but were the nicest, most helpful and honest people you'd ever meet. |

| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Amanda) posted 23-Mar-2005 9:31pm Very yummy! The restaurant we go to (Lok Yaun) not only has good food, but very affordable prices. I got a combo dinner (pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork and Mar Far chicken) for $7.55 and that includes egg flower soup, tea and either ice cream or rainbow sherbert for dessert and the portions are huge!! There is enough left over for another meal every time I go there. I never can eat all my dinner. They give such large portions that they routinely bring you containers to take home the uneaten food without even being asked. It takes us two buses to get there and back home again, but it's well worth the trip. |

| patarnone | (reply to justjulie) posted 25-Mar-2005 6:20pm They use "eyes" a lot in police interrogations... dishonesty has a habit of not returning a direct gaze very well. Works well in all situations... if someone can't hold eye contact to make a point (or avoid same) then look deeper into why they can't let you in. |
| LindaH | (reply to patarnone) posted 25-Mar-2005 9:11pm That really doesn't do any favors to honest and innocent people who still can't look people in the eyes. But other than that, for the most part it's true. |
| Amanda | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 26-Mar-2005 12:37am No one could be meaner than you! |
| patarnone | (reply to LindaH) posted 26-Mar-2005 6:59am Well, you know, there are a lot more "keys" to dishonestly than just the eyes, but it's usually where an interrogator gets the first feel of the case. We all know how weird people get when not being entirely truthful... there's even a program on CourtTV that deals with this. Look at all the hook ups on a lie detector... heart, resperation, persperation, etc... it they could measure eye movement accurately, I bet they would! |

| justjulie | (reply to patarnone) posted 26-Mar-2005 7:21am i have heard the same w/ the eyes. twas paranoid for a minute because of it, for i have a tendency to NOT look in somebody's eye's while thinking or recalling info. but i also find that my gaze is off in space and to the right side of body. (for i hear, that "looking" to your right is summoning up recall, while looking to your left is summoning up a lie) but yes, i do agree that eyes don't lie |
| patarnone | (reply to justjulie) posted 26-Mar-2005 7:49am very interesting the left and right bit... The Italian word for "left" is Sinestra... root for sinister or bad... the left hand was also used at the toilet paper hand in ancient cultures and left became the bad side from that, too. I hadn't heard the "left look lie" before... I'll do some silent research and report back! *now to find a pathological liar* |
| justjulie | (reply to patarnone) posted 26-Mar-2005 7:56am hehehe...i would give you my former sis-in-law for your research. one would have a field day w/ her.
there are more left/right bits as well. one being that your right side, is your history, your past....what makes you you. where as your left, is the incoming energy, the new....makes sense then if you think about the whole eye/lie thing. |
| patarnone | (reply to justjulie) posted 26-Mar-2005 8:02am sounds like you know symbols and Tarot, too... btw, your jewlery site is really nice...In high school I received a Gold Key in the National Art Scolastics for jewelry. |
| justjulie | (reply to patarnone) posted 26-Mar-2005 8:11am yeah, to an extenet.
about 10 years ago, i had wanted to create my own personal deck of cards. i wanted to integrate so many facets, it wasn't even funny. needless to say i never completed them, for the symbolism was too much for me, for i kept finding more and more info that i had wanted to incorporate. someday maybe i'll actually start forming the cards, for all of the info is there, but creating the actual cards is on a permanent temporary standstill |
| justjulie | (reply to patarnone) posted 26-Mar-2005 8:16am thank you for the compliment on my site....tis a work in progress.
"Gold Key in the National Art Scolastics for jewelry"...what is that about? |
| patarnone | (reply to justjulie) posted 26-Mar-2005 8:28am I did cufflinks with inlayed silver and ebony... I do believe the National Scholastics are still open for high school competition... There are various categories, sculpture, drawing, jewllery, etc... I even think there's other sections as well, like writing. It was a very big deal.
And on the Tarot... may I suggest "The Tarot Revealed" by Eden Gray... it is my favorite book and has the best descriptions and meanings of the Rider deck (the one I personally use) designed by E A Waite. Of all the decks, this is the most used traditional one. |

| justjulie | (reply to patarnone) posted 27-Mar-2005 8:38am very cool. it sounds like a "big deal"....just awesome.
i just recently have held in my hand for the very first time, a pair of cuff links. my dad gave them to me, (so it's a big deal that they were his), and they are super interesting. silver rectangles, w/ an amberish oval set in the middle. there is an image engraved in the stone, (etched i should say), it's 3 heads all connected, they look kind of king arthurish. when i first looked at them i didn't see the image, but then all of a sudden it JUMPED out at me, and then the other face emerged. just very cool. am anxious to create something for myself out of them. the tarot i was interested in creating, was going to be a mixture of gems/minerals, colors, herbs, plants, trees, shapes, numbers, astrological, animals, etc. a grand vision it was, but just a vision i suppose. i have a plethora of different decks right now. one is the "osho zen tarot"....which is pretty cool. instead of the typical swords, wands, etc....it's elemental. clouds, rainbows, fire, water....it's a fun deck, and the art is pretty nice as well. i have a deck of "medicine cards". which that deck is all about animals, and is very native american. i adore that deck. it's useful because we get visited my many creatures, and it's usually a "one time apprearance", so i know that that critter crossed my path w/ a message. nice to find out what it is. (i usually dream of critters as well, creatures that morph from one thing to another) I also have "the faery oracle", which is by brain froud. if your familiar w/ his works, i'm certain you can imagine this deck....in a nutshell...it rocks. also have one called "the power deck". in all honesty i'm not TOO familiar w/ that one. have only called upon it on a number of ocassions, but it's basically a self-betterment deck. the art is amazing on that deck also. and....we also have a deck of I-Ching cards. they get the most use here. words cannot even describe them, just a must see. i have played w/ the Rider deck. I like it for it feels like the "original". but my preferences lean towards the more artsy decks. (happy easter btw....) |
