| Matty | posted 22-Mar-2005 2:43pm No, but I have slept through alarms |
| srflorida | posted 22-Mar-2005 2:44pm Yes, I have accidentally set it forward and a few times I have accidently carried it across the room in my sleep! |
| LindaH | posted 22-Mar-2005 2:47pm Not that I know of. One time it came back on again because I hit snooze instead of off. I didn't know it was on again and it woke someone else up, who acted like I had made no attempt to turn it off. But she was a moron anyway, so that was only to be expected. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 22-Mar-2005 4:10pm Yes, about once a month it seems. Not always while i'm asleep, luckily. I'll set it for a time to take a nap in the PM, and forget to reset it to AM. |
| Enheduanna | posted 22-Mar-2005 4:59pm No. Although the other night it did something odd when I set it. But it wasn't exactly going off. |
| Amanda | posted 22-Mar-2005 5:17pm Yes. I was just talking about this a few days ago in another survey. I don't feel like getting into it again, so if you want to know the details, you'll have to go to that survey.

| darkshadowsseeker | posted 22-Mar-2005 6:50pm No, because to set it I have to pull out the little plug on the back for it to go off in the first place. My alarm clock doesn't beep, it buzzes. |
| southernyankee | posted 22-Mar-2005 8:30pm yes, when I set it for PM when it should have been AM, and once when the power went out. |
| ihatespiders | posted 22-Mar-2005 8:46pm Yes. it has gone off when I didnt set it to go off, My brother gave it to me before he died, Im sure his spirit finds this very funny. |
| Lahdee | (reply to LindaH) posted 22-Mar-2005 10:00pm who? |
| Danger | posted 22-Mar-2005 11:17pm Yes. My clock used to go off a couple hours after it went off the first time and I got up. |

| Lahdee | (reply to LindaH) posted 23-Mar-2005 9:10am Bonnie? |
| Zang | posted 23-Mar-2005 10:29am Yes, probably because I forgot it was Friday when I woke up. |

| caviartaste | posted 23-Mar-2005 11:20am yes...it's really creepy...especially when it plays "I'm back in the Saddle Again"..every time it does it.... |
| Frostbrand | posted 23-Mar-2005 11:58am Just yesterday. Both my switches were in the off position, but for some reason when it hit the time designated for Slot 2, BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP! |
| cerealkiller | posted 23-Mar-2005 1:30pm Yeah. Once I stayed at my son's house which is an hour away. Set the alarm a bit early to get up and go to work from there. Alarm went off, I got up, quietly left the house and got in the car. When I started the car the clock said is was 3.30 am. I had intended to leave at 6:30 am. I couldn't go back in the house since I didn't have a key and didn't want to wake anyone. I ended up driving to work and taking a nap in the car in the parking lot. |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 24-Mar-2005 5:39am Not that i recall, though they frequently go off 12 hours later than i planned on. |
| Biggles | posted 24-Mar-2005 1:46pm Probably. |
| Wolfgang | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 24-Mar-2005 4:42pm i liveed in aspen for a while and use to set my alarm to the skiiers howling, funny for me i wasn't a heavy sleeper |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Wolfgang) posted 25-Mar-2005 2:41am So that's like at 10 pm when the rum and hot cocoa starts to set in? |
| Wolfgang | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 25-Mar-2005 12:48pm about that time, yes, now that yuou mention it |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Matty) posted 27-Mar-2005 5:02am I bet you wouldn't sleep through this alarm clock...http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat/articles/0322scie... |

| Frostbrand | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 27-Mar-2005 2:46pm For some reason, that made me think of that episode of Dilbert with the 7 of 9 alarm clock that said "Don't touch me." |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 27-Mar-2005 2:54pm I don't think I saw that, but it sounds funny! |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 27-Mar-2005 5:05pm I knew a WWII vet who at one time would buy alarms in bulk at yard sales, and shoot the things in the morning. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 27-Mar-2005 6:09pm That's one way of turning the clock off without even getting out of bed. However, I don't think my neighbors would appreciate me doing that and with my terrible vision, I would probably shoot through the wall into the adjoining apartment instead of hitting the clock. At this time I doubt I could hit the side of a barn at point blank range! |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 28-Mar-2005 5:21am I think he lived in some isolated concrete texas ranch cabin at the time. My neighbor has a machete and a taser now. I'm glad he doesn't have a gun or I'd be worried about being accidentally shot through the floor of my apt. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 28-Mar-2005 5:22am That does sound funny. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 28-Mar-2005 1:31pm I can understand doing that if you lived in a isolated area with no neighbors nearby, but I have neighbors all around me. |
| Kristal_Rose | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 28-Mar-2005 4:13pm I wasn't recommending it. In fact i rather cringe at the idea. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Kristal_Rose) posted 28-Mar-2005 4:34pm So do I. I realize that you weren't recommending it...in fact I was just being silly. |
| dab | posted 29-Mar-2005 7:40am Just recently I was using my cell phone as an alarm clock and it went off at 4:57 instead of 6:00. I looked it over, it was set correctly, and I went back to sleep. It then went off again at 6:00 like it was supposed to. |
| starrpickle | posted 19-Apr-2005 3:38pm No but there has been a bunch of times it did not go off and should off |
| flowershower | posted 28-May-2005 8:57pm Sometimes it screws up and goes off on p.m. instead of a.m., the cheap piece of crap. |
| flowershower | posted 28-May-2005 8:57pm Sometimes, it goes off an hour too late, that really pisses me off. |
| flowershower | (reply to starrpickle) posted 28-May-2005 8:59pm > No but there has been a bunch of times it did not go off and should
> off That has happened to me, before, as well. |
| sexy1 | posted 7-Jun-2005 3:38pm yes many times!! |
| Enigma | posted 12-Jun-2005 5:33pm I have had the opposite happen though. The alarm clock was on and set properly to go ring and it hasn't gone off! |
| nonamejj18 | posted 15-Jun-2005 4:11pm it used to go nuts. I would set it for 6:30 and at 3 it would go off. I think it was cuz id throw it against the wall in the mornin to get it off |
| Katja144 | posted 20-Jun-2005 4:26pm Yes...though usually it's not a problem since I have it set to radio and it's not loud. But once a few years ago I took a nap and set my clock's nap alarm; this one doesn't have a radio option so it just beeps. Well, I hit snooze, got up, and forgot to turn it off before going to a class or meeting and I came back to it going off--apparently it didn't bother anyone enough to have an RA key into my room.
But one time sophomore year I guess they did key into my room or something, because I came back to a note on my door from the girl across the hall to make sure my alarm clock or phone or whatever was off--I think she said they'd had to key into my room to turn it off. Thing was--the radio on my alarm clock would not have been loud enough to even hear outside my room, unless for some reason it was the buzzer that went off. And it couldn't have been that anyway since I had something sitting in front of the alarm clock and it hadn't been moved (unless they'd put it back and I find it highly unlikely--it was just a glass of soda). Obviously it could not have been my phone, because they only ring about six times before the school's voice mail picked up so unless someone kept calling me back repeatedly--which no one I know would have--that could not have disturbed anyone. I had no other noisemaking objects in my room. The other suspicious thing was that she didn't know what was making the noise; when I had an RA key into someone's room to turn off the clock I had to go in with her because two people had to go in, so I knew what was making the noise, or you'd think they would have at least told her what it was. Plus, how many clocks and phones sound the same?? Also the fact that she left the note rather than the RA who keyed in. So I have no idea why they really keyed into my room, if they did. Kinda scary and suspicious. |
| missglamVIP | posted 7-Feb-2006 12:02am yes one night my toilet flushed by itself and my alarm went off..not the alarm part b/c I didnt have it set to alarm I had it set to radio. anywho, it went off at midnight EVEN THO IT WASNT SET TO GO OFF!! this was like 6 years ago while I was dating my husband and my daughter was gone to camp so I was home alone and it scared me to death!! |
| clare | posted 15-Jul-2006 10:54pm No, but mine doesn't have a switch. There is a knob on the back that you pull out. It's one of those that has the bells on top that the clapper strikes when the clock rings. It's very loud, but I need a loud alarm clock to wake me up. |
