I usually dream in first person, so I don't see myself

I never look at myself in the dreams I remember, though most of my dreams are first-person.

It varies so much that I had to check everything except "I never dream about myself" and "I never remember my dreams". Once, I dreamed that I was a bowl of soup.

My dreams are always strange. The last dream I had with myself in it was the night before last. I ended up running away from some deamon-- in the form of a small animal and later I killed two ppl who were stalking me...one by pounding their head into a wall then into the ground..and the other at some meat packing place- I threw him into the machinery after a struggle...aroo..but death only symbolizes change...So maybe it's not a bad thing anyhow...

How about an "I'm not sure what I look like" option?

I don't see myself in my dreams - I *am* myself. So I am me, no different at all I guess, but not visible either.

I don't see myself in my dreams. None of those answers fit.

I'm not usually aware of how I look in my dreams. I've sometimes been
aware of having a different hair length, and once I remember being
male.

I don't think I see myself in my dreams.

Most of these at different times. Mostly I see myself as I am. Or, at least I think I do.

I thought this was going to be a first vs. third person question.

I have two types of dreams. In one kind I am a completely different person, and in the other I am pretty much exactly as I am in waking life. That being said, I rarely see myself - all the action happens from a sort of first-person camera viewpoint.

I *rarely* see myself in dreams and on the occasions that I do, I may look very like or unlike my physical self. In one of my favorite dreams of all time, my head was a mango. I do not have a consistent dream image of myself.

usually, in my dreams, i'm weaker...humble...

My dreams are so surreal, it's hard to remember details like that. I actually dream in third person sometimes (it varies) so I can see myself. I have never noticed anything particularly different about myself, so I think I look the same.

I've been many different things in my dreams. I have been specific people whom I know- so that the dream was in first person as though I was a friend on mine, for instance; I have been exactly who I am, except I was my lover and my lover was me. I have been as I look in photos or video, and i have been how I imagine myself to look (which is several inches taller than I actually am). I am almost always about 8 to 18 inches in front of my field of view, too, so that the dream is first person omniscient in a weird way.

I almost always dream with a first person point of view. On the occasions that a dream includes more than a first person view, I look like I usually do.

I never really see myself in my dreams.

I dream in first person mostly, so I have no clear picture of myself in my dreams.

I always dream from the first person perspective. I never see myself or my reflection.

I can't see myself in my dreams because I am always the camera's eye. ;)

That's a really strange thing, 'cause just the other day i was thinking about it!! :)
Whenever i have a dream and i'm in it, i don't really "look" at myself, you know? Or i just don't remember. Thumbs up for the survey!!

I dream about Nick...and sex...not necessarily at the same time...but what I mean is...I don't usually see ME in my
dreams...I see others

I have occasionally dreamed I was someone else, but otherwise I'm just my "residual self-image" (which is, usually, slightly out of date).

I don't usually see myself in dreams, but if I do, how I look varies a lot.

That's strange hunter, I wonder what it means.. when I was a kid, I had a very vivid dream of falling and busting my head open and it was like the inside of a watermelon.

I don't believe that dreams have to mean anything. They could just be random neural firings, disconnected from sensory input, that one's brain tries to organize into a coherent picture of the world, as it normally does with one's sensory input.

When I dream, I am myself. I can't remember ever having viewed a mirror in my dreams.
dpolicar
posted 23-Apr-1999 8:29am

If I'm "me" in my dreams, I either look like I really do (well, give or take; I don't spend a lot of time in my dreams looking in a mirror), or I'm taller and thinner with long wavy light brown hair. I don't know why that is, but it's been true for some time.
Sometimes "I" is something radically different, though... I've had dreams in which I was various animals, various people I know, various fictional characters, furniture, a large strawberry, the list goes on and on.

I don't remember ever seeing myself in my dreams. I nearly always dream in first person. I don't usually feel any different though, so I guess about the same.

I don't know how I see myself. I've never thought about it in physical terms. I'll try to make a note of it next time.

Funny that I'm seeing this survey for the first time today. I'm usually just "me" in my dreams, but last night I dreamt that I was a different person, and all my friends in the dream were people I don't even know for real. It was very strange!! I don't really know what I looked like...I just remember feeling like I was someone different.
