| Biggles | posted 15-Mar-2005 3:55pm I don't drink and never have. I'd probably be under the table after half a glass of wine because I haven't built up any kind of tolerance to it at all. |
| caviartaste | posted 15-Mar-2005 4:14pm one martini, two martini, three martini, floor!!!! |
| anoddoblivion | posted 15-Mar-2005 4:16pm I drank one time- with my brother and his friends. I tried it out. Nothing special. I drank a LOT. I lied to my brother saying I hadn't drank much and they kept giving me new stuff to try (they were enebreated already). The entire time, I was still undercontrol. So according to the one time, I have a VERY high tolerance. So I guess I should pick the last answer.
And I'm VERY lucky I didn't die from alcohol poisoning that night! |
| jettles | posted 15-Mar-2005 4:37pm one or two glasses of wine or beer will do it. i don't drink that often so i feel it within the first drink. and if i have more than two or three i usually feel sick. |
| RaveDevil | posted 15-Mar-2005 5:00pm I'd have to say 5 to 6 drinks. I would feel pretty tipsy after 3 or 4, but would be drunk on 5 or 6. And thats just drinking beer. |
| Matty | posted 15-Mar-2005 5:30pm Gin and Tonic, yummy |
| bill | posted 15-Mar-2005 5:30pm 2 |
| bcollins | posted 15-Mar-2005 6:53pm I don't know. I can't remember the last time I drank enough to get drunk. If I go to a bar with friends I never have more than 2 beers. I'm not a big drinker. |
| MizzTemper | posted 15-Mar-2005 7:50pm I'd say 7 to 8 drinks if I wanna get wasted but not get sick, 5 to 6, just to feel giggly, 11 or 12 if I wanna wake up in the drunk tank with an assault case |
| LindaH | posted 15-Mar-2005 8:17pm My answer would be the same as bcollins, except I don't go to bars. |
| Amanda | posted 15-Mar-2005 10:46pm My drink of choice is a screwdriver (vodka and orange juice). I start feeling the effects after 2, get tipsy at 3 or 4, and start getting drunk around 5. I'm not crap faced drunk until 7 or 8, though. It's been a while since I got drunk, but I was drinking shots of whiskey and chasing it with beer. To be honest, I have no idea how much I drank then. |
| ihatespiders | posted 15-Mar-2005 11:19pm Acid reflux put an end to my drinking. |
| pandora | posted 16-Mar-2005 1:34am I'm a weakling. I start to feel it after half a drink, but intoxication takes at least two drinks on an empty stomach. |
| autumnlight | posted 16-Mar-2005 9:03am I put 5-6 but it really depends.
My limit would be 4 pints of beer but about 6 vodka redbulls |
| Maarten | posted 16-Mar-2005 10:24am On an empty stomach about 6 or 7. |
| Updown | posted 16-Mar-2005 10:56am A liter of Vodka will knock me out on an empty stomach (I have been misspelling "stomache" all of my life...go figure). It will take awhile, but I will eventually pass out. However, I am a recovering alcoholic, and I don't drink anymore...so it might have changed. |
| Iseult | posted 16-Mar-2005 11:28am Five to six, but this varies gravely. I remember nights when I drank half the bar and I was still sober. |
| Cain | posted 16-Mar-2005 12:00pm At the moment, nil. I can't drink a drop without wanting to throw up. However, pre-pregnancy it was quite high. Between 12 and 15 vodkas before I felt much effect, or 7 pints of something heavier. Apart from red wine, where three glasses would send me reeling. |
| cerealkiller | posted 16-Mar-2005 2:26pm Depends. I don't drink much now so maybe 3 beers in a short period of time would do it.
On the other hand hard booze like Jack Daniels doesn't phase me at all. I used to drink a whole 750ml bottle of JD every night 10 years ago. Hardly got a buzz of it. I'd put 7-8 shots into a glass, ice and a half inch of 7-Up on top. Not too many of those and the bottle was gone. I stopped because it was tearing my stomach up (no hangovers though) and it scared me that I could drink that much with no effect and wondered what it was doing to my liver. This Christmas though I did get myself a bottle and put down almost the whole thing Christmas Eve with hardly more than a 'warm feeling'. Wonder why that is? I can't handle wine at all. Besides tasting horrible one sip gives me a major headache right between the eyes within minutes. Must be allergic to it. |
| Jemmy | posted 16-Mar-2005 3:43pm It completely depends on how much I've had to eat. I'm a cheap drunk if I haven't eaten that day. |
| Zang | posted 16-Mar-2005 4:03pm That's a tough question, because I'm not in the habit of drinking on an empty stomach...and that does make quite a big difference. Another important factor that wasn't even mentioned is how fast you drink. I tend to drink fairly slowly, so I don't feel the effects so much.
In most normal situations (for me) I would be eating at the same time that I'm consuming my first few drinks. I average about a drink an hour. I limit myself to seven drinks as a rule. Any more than that and I would be quite drunk, and I don't really enjoy being that drunk. I know that on an empty stomach I can feel some slight effect even after only one drink. I wouldn't finish a second drink without eating something. Normally it takes three or four before I really feel much effect, because I'm eating. |
| Wolfgang | (reply to RaveDevil) posted 16-Mar-2005 5:03pm don't encourage children to drink alcohol |
| bombill | posted 16-Mar-2005 7:44pm 5 or 6 shots of liquor |
| thevelvetcure | posted 16-Mar-2005 8:59pm isn't drunk different than intoxicated?
2 = legally intoxicated for my body weight (within one hour) I'm a social drinker, by the time I finish my 3rd drink, the first is out of my system..unless it's one of those rare situations that I'm not driving and I'm !@#<%&^PCUG IXCG*&UKI this survey is too frustrating, too many variables |
| RaveDevil | (reply to Wolfgang) posted 16-Mar-2005 9:00pm Oh yeah? Why not?
Just kidding. |
| Amanda | (reply to thevelvetcure) posted 17-Mar-2005 1:27am Fix yourself a drink. It'll help with the frustration. |
| thevelvetcure | (reply to Amanda) posted 17-Mar-2005 1:55am Can't gotta write a few papers. |
| Matty | (reply to Wolfgang) posted 17-Mar-2005 8:47am Yes, I agree; look what happened to you and your alcoholism; have you been able to crawl out of the bottle yet? |
| romkey | posted 17-Mar-2005 10:13am Alcohol hits me fast; I don't have much tolerance for it. |
| Enheduanna | posted 17-Mar-2005 7:05pm 1-2 to feel tipsy. Three to four to be quite drunk. |
| srflorida | posted 17-Mar-2005 8:52pm At about 3 I am loopy. I guess you could call me a light weight. |
| srflorida | posted 17-Mar-2005 8:54pm I like rum and coke and a good Pinot Grigio. Definatly not a beer drinker. |
| Oscar | posted 20-Mar-2005 12:36am On an empty stomach, 3-4 probably. |
| Starfish | posted 20-Mar-2005 7:09am On an empty stomach, I'd feel drunk after three or four, I think, but it completely depends on mood |
| patarnone | posted 20-Mar-2005 7:26am 2 drinks and I know I've had something, but 3-4 keeps me there. I do love my R and R |
| anonymous | posted 20-Mar-2005 11:34am Yes , I have no idea about this |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 20-Mar-2005 3:29pm I do not drink and that is the truth, and I would not know? Plus I am on medications and drugs and booze do not mix? |
| JessicaWoman99 | posted 20-Mar-2005 3:32pm And if I ever did go out and drink, I think just 2 rum and cokes would put me out and maybe kill me? |
| southernyankee | posted 20-Mar-2005 6:16pm not much. Just one or two will get me pretty buzzed up. Man I cant hold my liquor for crap. |
| Bamboo1029 | posted 20-Mar-2005 7:19pm Actually it depends on what mood or how i feel.....When im happy or hyper i will have to drink A Lot before i get drunk...if i am in a dogy attitude it doesnt take as much....and when im sad or disappointed it doesnt take very much. |
| Wolfgang | (reply to Matty) posted 21-Mar-2005 11:36am and especially to you young young children, who most likely should be in bed. no little tastes of beer or wine. don't do it to yourselves |
| Matty | (reply to Wolfgang) posted 21-Mar-2005 12:18pm Oh, you are so right; I'll use your miserable existence as an example for my future. I just hope one day you can break the bonds of alcohol addiction. |
| icurok | posted 22-Mar-2005 7:20am I'd say I would start feeling a little tipsy after maybe 1 or 2 pints of vodka. |
| RaveDevil | (reply to autumnlight) posted 22-Mar-2005 6:04pm Don't mind me, I'm probably just being a smartass.
I've noticed it for a while and haven't said anything, but is that picture of yours a mugshot? |
| Wolfgang | (reply to Matty) posted 23-Mar-2005 1:32pm my existance isn't miserable, i may not be the richest person in the world but i know how to love people |

| Matty | (reply to Wolfgang) posted 24-Mar-2005 6:52pm a partner...you know, two consenting adults. But I guess you are more likely to enjoy a whole pizza and...your right hand. |
| Wolfgang | (reply to Matty) posted 25-Mar-2005 12:28pm I'm still waiting for you to be clever...but I suspect it will be a very long wait. (yawn) |
| Matty | (reply to Wolfgang) posted 25-Mar-2005 4:08pm I suspect that's what you're best at...waitng. I mean really, look at your situation: fat, alcoholic, and in the hoosegow; you've honed your ability to do nothing other than wait to a razor's edge. I applaud your skill. Keep up the good work!!! |
| RaveDevil | posted 26-Mar-2005 3:02am Matty and Wolfgang: The both of you know each other somehow? |
| Wolfgang | (reply to Matty) posted 29-Mar-2005 12:41pm you've honed your ability to do nothing other than wait to a razor's edge.
What cheap B movie did you get that line from? |
| RGirl | posted 25-Feb-2006 11:23pm I USED to drink & it only took a couple of wine coolers to get me tipsy. I can't drink anymore, so if I did it would probably take 1 drink. |
| Melf | posted 26-Nov-2008 2:17pm 3 to 4 vodka and cokes or WKDs (I'm a teen, leave me alone) before I start feeling drunk... around ten before I'm pretty damn pissed. |
