I have no idea, and there's no way I'm going to look. A fair bit of it is probably on small/indie labels.

RCA, followed by Capitol.

I haven't a clue, and why should it matter? It's not like buying one record label makes the contents better than someone else's. All it tells you is which label offered the artist the best deal.

I really couldn't say. Most of my collection is in boxes and I listen to MP3's of it now... the MP3's don't carry a tag saying who the record label was. So I really don't know.

Frankly, the label itself seems irrelevant to me. Musicians switch labels all the time, and I can't think of an instance when I thought it changed the way the band sounded.

I have no clue. Most of my cds are boxed up and in storage right now. I'm not going to get in the car, drive 15 miles to the storage unit, then go through box after box looking for cds, then look at which record label shows up most often. Sorry.

Oh, it's you. For you...I would do that! * wink *

Most of my cassettes are in boxes and I'm too lazy to dig them out and go through them!

I wasn't about to go through everything, but a quick scan through my CDs, which are right beside me, revealed mostly Columbia, quite a few Atlantic, and some Virgin, Rhino and Capitol. There were a lot of other more obscure ones too. The Columbia ones only make up about 5-10%.

probabbly captical, cause thats where most metallica and megadeath cds are under (or is it electronica, I forget). AIso epic has rage on it bu thats about it. I really dont know, all my favorite bands are on something else.

No idea, but I seem to be partial to Matador.

I don't know - I don't really pay much attention to labels. At college my friends and I jokily talked about setting up our own record label - Yer mam Records. That was funny day.

I lost all my first edition records (from the 60's) in a house fire. I had the first Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle, Joan Baez, Doors, Beatles, all that classic rock.... jeeze, just thinking about them makes me sad. My musician friend, Alice Stuart, has an extensive music collection, as does her husband... oddly enough, he has some of the same more obscure vinyls I did! My late sig other had a nice record collection, too... but they got warped in a flood. I've never had enough spare cash to replace any of them. If I want to listen to music, I find a radio, or play Alice's cds on my computer. She recorded for Fantasy, Arhoolie, and Burnside. The next cd will be produced independent.
