A regular mattress. It could do with being replaced I think ,starting to get a bit saggy.

Mattress and box springs. I need a new mattress badly!

For almost the past week, I've been sleeping on a pillowtop mattress. I usually sleep on a waterbed, but it seemed to much trouble to put it up at my dad's only to be moving again in the very near future.

Other. A futon wood base (single) but on pillows as mattresses. I have a lot of pillows. I am looking for one of those lightweight futon mattresses, however. I used to have a twin-sized mattress (as part of a bunkbed) but the thing got all holey it was so old, and I tossed it out.

Regular mattress and boxspring. My mattress has nice padding and quilting on top (but it's not a pillowtop), so my bed is super-comfy.

Water bed. But it's not one big bag. it's like four long skinny tubes each filled independently of one another, and you zip them into this bigger mattress. Kind of weird, but comfy. Got this bed when my Great-Grandmother on my Dad's side passed away.

When I visit my friends at college, I stay on the couch.

regular mattress, with the sheet rarely staying in place. Never a top sheet. A comforter when I get cold.

What's your number? My wife sleeps on one and sets it to 5 or 10. I don't have a sleep number since I hate sleeping in the same bed with anyone, have my own bedroom.

I sleep on the couch and my husband sleeps on the bed. He snores too loudly, sometimes I can hear him in the living room.

In response to your comment in qualification, I see that you used:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=bedding

However, you missed something. The part you quoted was at the top under "bed". Lower down, where it actually says "bedding", it gives the definitions: Bedclothes. coverings that are used on a bed.

I chose mattress, regular. That is not a accurate statement. When I first broke up with my wife, for a couple of years I could not sleep in a bed. I could not do a regular bed routine. I almost always fell asleep on the couch, or the living room floor. Eventually I started to sleep in the bed again but always on top of the covers. Recently I have been catching myself falling asleep at the desk in front of my computer, face down on the keyboard sometimes, with the curser zig zaging across the screen because I was holding the space bar down. It is also not uncommon for me not to go to sleep at all. I may be up for 48 hours before I lay down to rest. * yawn *

regular mattress, extra firm.....but I sure need a new one. You know when you have a few hundred dollars to spend....mattresses are just not something you want to spend money on. You feel like you just blew it on nothing. I guess that's why I keep putting off buying a new one.

 * laughing out loud * That's funny. Both of my brothers are tall. One's 6'3" and one's 6'4". They both had twin beds, growing up. When they hit the teenage growth spurts, my parents had to buy them queen sized beds because their feet would hang off the foot of the bed.

A great mattress topped with a down featherbed and 320 thread count damask sheets. I don't mind spending a little extra cash to sleep comfortably...probably why I have to drive a 13 year old car. =)
