| Enheduanna | posted 5-Mar-2005 1:22pm No. Although I think I've probably used hand/bath soap once or twice, when my hair was buzzed really short. |
| romkey | posted 5-Mar-2005 1:23pm Nope. |
| gambler | posted 5-Mar-2005 2:11pm No, cant say that I have |
| juliw | posted 5-Mar-2005 4:03pm Once, I used Tide, because we were out of shampoo. |
| Amanda | posted 5-Mar-2005 5:13pm Yeah, but not because of the absence of shampoo. When I was a teen, I went through this stage where my hair was greasy. I tried a lot of different shampoos, but none of them helped. Within a few hours of washing my hair, it looked greasy again. So, I used dish detergent for a few months, until the greasy stage was over. It actually did too good a job, as it dried my hair out. So, I'd wash it in dish detergent, then put in a little conditioner and it worked fine. |
| kirst | posted 5-Mar-2005 8:38pm No. I cannot believe that someone would actually do this. |
| caviartaste | posted 6-Mar-2005 9:03am no, but I have used both Shower Gel and dog shampoo, when I had to.... the stuff is expensive...and sometimes if you get in the shower and you don't realize you're out - you just have no other choice!!! what's funny is getting complimented on how good your hair smells! ROFL.... |
| pandora | posted 6-Mar-2005 9:48am My hair is way too finicky for such mistreatment. |
| autumnlight | posted 7-Mar-2005 6:22am No. I've used shower gel when I've been desperate though. |
| Updown | posted 7-Mar-2005 12:45pm No...should I? |
| Starfish | posted 7-Mar-2005 7:26pm Yes, Fairy Liquid over the kitchen sink when I was desperately late but couldn't get in the bathroom!! It was horrible. |
| southernyankee | posted 7-Mar-2005 11:04pm no, but I did wash them with soap once. |
| Zang | posted 10-Mar-2005 2:02am When I was eighteen, I tried washing my hair with dish soap and it wasn't because there was any lack of shampoo. Someone told me it would make my hair stand up. They were wrong. |
| Gerg | posted 10-Mar-2005 4:11am No, but numerous times I've washed my laundry with either shampoo or dish soap only because I was too @#$%ing lazy to go to the market and buy laundry detergent. |
| srflorida | posted 22-Mar-2005 2:16pm No, however my maid did wash my hair with soap once as a child. You can imagine how I threw a fit over that! |
| srflorida | posted 22-Mar-2005 2:19pm I do have an interesting laundry story. When in Prague we had no access to a washing machine and could not find cleaners so we put our clothes in buckets in the shower with laundry detergent and washed them that way. |
| callrs | posted 25-Mar-2005 3:01am I only use basic dish detergent - Regular green Palmolive or white Dove. It does an EXCELLENT job without the unknown questionable additives found in shampoos.
I've been using dish soap exclusively to wash my hair for over a decade. P.S. Body doesn't need soap to get clean in the majority of cases. Hands & hair & sometimes face/neck/feet need soap, etc. yes, but rest of body doesn't unless you're doing dirty jobs etc, or unless you apply chemicals like sprays, makeup, deodorants, repellents (i don't at all, in conjunction also with a more natural wholesome diet). A simple rubbing with the hands under the shower cleans simpler, better, faster |
| patarnone | posted 27-Mar-2005 5:36am yes...It was while I was living on my boat. The showers were up at Marina Headquarters. So I'm up there with all my sht, get undressed, into the shower stall, and fk me, NO SHAMPOO! Here I am, all wet, done with the body and ready for hair... so I'm both wet AND pissed. Wrapped a towel around me and stuck my head out to see if the bathroom area had anything. Lady was there with her groceries and gave me a dollup of Dawn Dishwashing Liquid... the blue kind , kinda dried my hair out a bit, but better than a second trip!
(At the marina, Dawn was used because it was great for grease and ya only had to use a little... grey water goes out the side of the boat... black water gets pumped out by Roses Head Service) |
| patarnone | (reply to callrs) posted 27-Mar-2005 5:40am I agree at times the body doesn't need soap to do the cleaning, but I always use a nice rough washcloth for the invigorating rub. |
