| southernyankee | posted 21-Jan-2005 9:49pm a little I guess, the same way I feel about rich people in general, but since I dont know the guy personally, not really. |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 21-Jan-2005 11:13pm No, because he's lying! Look at the link I gave during qual.
http://www.lottery.state.mn.us/ or this link: http://www.lottery.state.mn.us/million.html you'll see that there hasn't been a win that big since August, 2004. State lotteries use computers and each lottery ticket and the numbers on it, whether preselected or picked by the lottery player are recorded. When the drawing occurs, the computer knows whether or not someone won before they come forward to claim their prize. That's why you see on T.V. or in the paper that someone won the lottery. The computer knows, but the name isn't given until the prize is claimed. This guy is bogus because there would have been some kind of indication on the Minnesota state lottery page if someone had won the lottery and if the guy had claimed his winnings, he would have been listed on the millionaire link that I gave. I suggest you go to VA and post this info and out this lying sack of crap! |
| kirst | posted 21-Jan-2005 11:48pm No. |
| romkey | posted 22-Jan-2005 12:05am No. I'd be concerned about their ability to manage the money, deal with taxes and other issues, and deal with people who want to deal with the money for them. |
| Frostbrand | posted 22-Jan-2005 12:05am Yes. Oh, and it turns out the MN state lottery page was just slow to update. |
| Amanda | posted 22-Jan-2005 12:55am Jealous? Nope, not really. I'm happy for the guy. Of course, if he's looking for something to do with some of that cash, you can always point him my way! |
| Amanda | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 22-Jan-2005 12:57am After reading Kate's post, I got to thinking. When someone wins the lottery, they always have media stories about them. Are there any newspaper or TV news links to prove this guy won? I mean, it's certainly possible that the MN state lottery page hasn't been updated, but surely there's some kind of news link that'll prove this guy won. Not that it really matters all that much. I think the point of your question was if we get jealous when we hear of people winning millions. |
| bill | posted 22-Jan-2005 8:35am looks like a hoax to me. |
| dab | posted 22-Jan-2005 8:41am Envious maybe (though not really) but jealously for me has always involved fear of loss and that doesn't apply here. |
| jettles | posted 22-Jan-2005 9:25am nope, good for him/her!!!!! |
| thevelvetcure | posted 22-Jan-2005 9:31am No, it would be nice to have 1M so I could live off the interest, and help worthy people improve their lives...but guess what? I can't afford to play the stinking lotto. |
| thevelvetcure | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 22-Jan-2005 9:36am Maybe Oregon is corrupt, but how can you force one ball out of 54 (or 60) in a wind tunnel to go into a tube? |
| juliw | posted 22-Jan-2005 10:33am Not at all! I am very glad for this person! I did not click on the link |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to thevelvetcure) posted 22-Jan-2005 12:04pm I don't know. I don't play the lottery, but other states use similar methods. I doubt we are the only state to use a machine such as Oregon uses. |
| Iseult | posted 22-Jan-2005 12:22pm Of whom?
Of you? No. Of that person? Not really. |
| thevelvetcure | (reply to darkshadowsseeker) posted 22-Jan-2005 12:37pm I'm sure that it's not, I was just giving you a hard time. Do you know the blower machine that I'm talking about though? |
| Biggles | posted 22-Jan-2005 12:47pm No. 1) I don't think he really did. 2) I've never been jealous of anyone winning the lottery before. 3) Am I supposed to be jealous of him (no) or you for knowing him (definitely no)? |
| darkshadowsseeker | (reply to thevelvetcure) posted 22-Jan-2005 1:15pm Yes, they have shown it on T.V. from time to time. |
| Enheduanna | posted 22-Jan-2005 2:18pm Yes. No, wait, maybe I'm envious! I don't know! But I'm definitely one or the other! |
| gambler | posted 22-Jan-2005 2:49pm NO not at all |
| CarolL | posted 23-Jan-2005 8:59am Are they going to give you any? |
| Frostbrand | (reply to CarolL) posted 23-Jan-2005 4:34pm No, but I'm not going to ask either. |
| Maarten | (reply to Frostbrand) posted 23-Jan-2005 6:04pm Now you don't have to worry about how to finance you campaign for City Council! |
| iamdonte | posted 23-Jan-2005 8:47pm nope |
| caviartaste | posted 24-Jan-2005 9:10am Jealous? ME? NEVER.
Your friend is obviously so chronically co-dependent that he uses devices such as this post to draw reams of attention upon himself. And from your survey, I can only assume that either A.) you're too stupid to figure out that it was a prank or B.) you're also so co-dependent, that you are jealous that you didn't think of it first. |
| Updown | posted 24-Jan-2005 2:48pm No, according to Enheduanna's definition of jealousy and envy I feel envious of this person. |
| Tazwert | posted 24-Jan-2005 4:49pm No, because he's a [deleted] liar!!
Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!! |
| ASB | posted 25-Jan-2005 9:31am nope, good for them! |
| satanas | posted 25-Jan-2005 10:18pm i would only be jealous if the person didnt hook it up with a mil or two. if he/she didnt id probably rip off their head and heat their spinal column |
| icurok | posted 27-Jan-2005 1:25pm I'm shocked. Either you're trying to wind everyone up or you're more gullible than I ever realised. |
| nightvid | posted 21-Jul-2006 10:52am Not jealous, since it's not someone I know! |
