| North79 | posted 14-Apr-1999 9:36pm It's a toss up between polar bears and kangaroos |
| they | posted 14-Apr-1999 9:43pm The Aquarium building. |
| Handle | posted 14-Apr-1999 9:47pm Birds. Particularly waterfowl in the pond. They seem more free than the other animals, or at least less bothered by captivity. Also sometimes you see some wild waterfowl passing through. |
| jjg | posted 14-Apr-1999 10:08pm the hairless apes |
| happy_go_lucky | posted 14-Apr-1999 10:41pm Personally, I love the polar bears. |
| radioactive | posted 14-Apr-1999 10:43pm please don't feed the bears... |
| Matteh | posted 14-Apr-1999 10:46pm I like the otters, but close behind them are the tigers. |
| ferretlover | posted 14-Apr-1999 11:11pm i forgot otters, they're awesome too! a lot like ferrets, fresh water ferrets, hmmm... |
| madamex | posted 15-Apr-1999 12:08am Big cats. Leopards, cheetahs and panthers are the most beautiful, sexiest things ever, ever, ever. |
| phi | posted 15-Apr-1999 2:01am Giraffes! |
| hunter | posted 15-Apr-1999 2:12am It depends on the individuals, really. At the last zoo I visited, the siamangs were my favorite, because they were doing some very cool acrobatics that were fun to watch. |
| magbast | posted 15-Apr-1999 2:17am the aquariums...sharks, rays, fish, stuff like that... |
| drdt | posted 15-Apr-1999 4:24am yayy penguins! but don't lump them with the boring birds... |
| bill | posted 15-Apr-1999 5:35am Meow |
| gilly | posted 15-Apr-1999 6:12am Phi: The coolest thing about the giraffes is their tongues. Such a weird shade of blue! |
| bill | posted 15-Apr-1999 7:59am Their tongues are blue so they wont get sun-burned. |
| Jody | posted 15-Apr-1999 8:49am otters! They're so fun to watch! |
| gilly | posted 15-Apr-1999 9:12am Wow, a sunburned tongue. Now there's something I've never needed to worry about... |
| supplicant | posted 15-Apr-1999 10:21am The Kangaroo is my favourite animal outside of the zoo. Us Aussies have them hopping down our streets ;) (my favourites are the tigers, panthers and wolves) |
| lizzie | posted 15-Apr-1999 2:39pm I just like seeing the animals up close. |
| dab | posted 15-Apr-1999 4:05pm What amazed the first time I saw a giraffe was their spots. The colors were so well defined. Tigers too. |
| bill | posted 15-Apr-1999 7:56pm Something tells me it's all happening at the Zoo... |
| Pooh_Bear | posted 16-Apr-1999 10:05am I like the dolphins, monkeys and I once saw a great panda - that was really cool |
| jonathan | posted 16-Apr-1999 11:54am I do believe it, I do believe it's true... One of my favorite songs - Bill, you've got me bopping in my chair! |
| phi | posted 16-Apr-1999 12:31pm you can take a crosstown bus if it's raining or it's cold, and the animals will love it if you do... you know, I've never been to that particular zoo. |
| bill | posted 16-Apr-1999 12:47pm I have a certain fondness for zoo songs. Their's another by "The Sixths" called "San Diego Zoo" which is also light-hearted. Phi, I assume Simon and Garfunkel were singing about the Bronz Zoo. My wife and I went there serveral years ago. We went to the San Diego Zoo just last year actually. Both were quite good. |
| dpolicar | posted 16-Apr-1999 1:21pm I gravitate towards the wolves and foxes... no surprise to those who know me... |
| pengy | posted 16-Apr-1999 2:51pm penguins of course |
| seth | posted 16-Apr-1999 5:26pm I can't decide. They're all so cute. |

| Michelle1 | posted 23-Apr-1999 5:25pm I love cats. They're so mysterious and beautiful. I think they're absolutely gorgeous. They're really graceful, too. Good survey. :) |
| mags | posted 26-Apr-1999 8:37am I can't decide between the big cats or the primates. |
| dogzrfun | posted 29-Apr-1999 11:53pm I don't know why, but I've always loved monkeys |
| mandy | posted 30-Apr-1999 2:11am I go to the zoo....and watch people |
| SueBee | posted 2-May-1999 1:56pm I think it really depends on the zoo and the environments the animals are in. The weather and time of day can make a big difference in whether or not they are active, too. I've enjoyed so many different animals on different trips to different zoos, I really can't choose a favorite. |
| platyman | posted 3-May-1999 8:22am Platypus (obviously). |
| lion | posted 8-May-1999 1:42pm for me, of course, is the big cats. Seconding runner up is the primates. |
| kristalynn | posted 9-May-1999 10:01am monkeys all the way man! |
| phi | posted 31-May-1999 9:57pm bill: actually I assumed it was the central park zoo (that being the one to which one might take a crosstown bus). |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 8-Aug-1999 10:13pm me, cats, primates, roos, pachyderms. gilly: i just saw a show in which they were collecting giraffe saliva for some medical cure. |
| gilly | posted 9-Aug-1999 11:54am Ewwww. I'm glad I don't have whatever disease it cures! |
| Kristal_Rose | posted 9-Aug-1999 4:08pm The blues perhaps :) I should add sea-lions and dolphins. Dolphins have two kinds of vision: regular eyes, and their sonar; if their chirping can mimic or fabricate what they hear as sonar, it would mean they are capable of communicating 3-dimensional pictures to each other. Most impressive. |
| bigkim65 | posted 14-Aug-1999 3:27am I like most of the animals in the zoo, but the hippos are the coolest. Especially when you can see them in the water...it's a big difference from their movement on land. |
| yorricks | posted 2-Oct-1999 12:07pm I love the aquariums...i can stand for hours just watching the fishies swim by |
| Mariah | posted 28-Oct-1999 5:18pm They don't have them at many zoos (maybe only one?) but I love the koalas. |
| Mariah | posted 28-Oct-1999 5:23pm I also really like the orangatangs (sp?). They do neat tricks. And aquariums are great, too...so peaceful. |
| Wicksy | posted 29-Oct-1999 5:56am my girlfriend! |
| Jane | posted 8-Nov-1999 4:32pm your girlfriend? Thats mean!! |
| supplicant | posted 15-Nov-1999 9:21am Mariah: they have Koalas in every zoo I've ever been to :) Living here probably helps... ;) |
| Wicksy | posted 15-Nov-1999 9:24am Supplicant Where in Australia do you live? What's the night life like as well? |
| supplicant | posted 15-Nov-1999 12:40pm Wicksy: Melbourne, and I am a bit of a social recluse, so I'm not really the one to ask about the night life :) From what I've heard but rarely seen it's thriving ;) |
| Wicksy | posted 16-Nov-1999 4:46am supplicant: I'll be in Melbourne from Jan 3rd. Let us know if you wanna meet up. I'll understand if you say no, I haven't exactly got the best reputation on Survey Central! |
