| Irene007 | posted 1-Nov-2004 7:13pm I don't know for sure yet but I'll bet it's a mouse. We laid traps before we left the shack. I'll know next Saturday - I hope there's one in every trap! Freakin' mice - they're deer mice, cute as hell but they're NOT potty trained so they crap and piss all over my dishes, bed, counters etc... Yuck! Besides, they have regular rock concerts at night, right by my head! |

| Biggles | (reply to Wicksy) posted 4-Nov-2004 2:29pm I love moths |
| Wicksy | (reply to Biggles) posted 5-Nov-2004 4:56am Do you?
I am scared of them, one came in to the room because the light was on. I turned the light off to calm him down and tried to throw him outside. But because the room was dark, I kind of over exerted my pressure on him and the poor thing lost a leg and wing. I put him out of his misery straight away tho. |
| Biggles | (reply to Wicksy) posted 5-Nov-2004 6:15am They are very hard to handle. You really have to either get them to step onto your hand and then cup them very lightly or do the old glass and piece of paper trick. I think moths are very sweet and very pretty. Best is when you catch them in a moth trap because it really tires them out. In the morning when you go out to see what you've got they will sit on your hands for ages, drawing warmth from you to fly away, so you can look at them really carefully. |
| Wicksy | (reply to Biggles) posted 5-Nov-2004 9:09am I didnt know there was a moth trap, wonder if i can buy one on ebay? |
| Biggles | (reply to Wicksy) posted 5-Nov-2004 9:12am Oh, this was a moth trap for biology. It's essentially a big tub with a lid that has a hole in the middle and coming out of the hole is a lightbulb. The moths are attracted to the light and fly round and round and round it until they get exhausted and drop into the trap. Then they can't climb out again because of the lid so they sit in there until you open it up in the morning. |
