Do you know anyone personally who is currently in prison ?

At least, not that I know of.

I sure do and I wish he'd be in there for life, unfortunately he's up for parole in the next few years. Funny how the all become "reborn" when they're in the slammer. BS!

I know someone who knows someone who is, though.

She's imprisoned in Peru on a life sentence for terrorism and treason handed down by a hooded tribunal of military judges in a trial that violated every common definition of "justice." She is suffering terribly. Whenever I start feeling like I've got problems, I think of Lori Berenson and my life seems downright idyllic.

I said "no", and then I read Hunter's comment. I'd forgotten. How sad, and yet how despicable. Now I hate myself. (Don't worry; it'll pass.)

Yes I do....for first degree murder...He is in for life.....

No, I don't... I grew up with a kid that just got out of prison, or so I heard.. He was doing time for stealing a semi truck. A good friend of mine was also acquainted with a man that was accused of molesting a child in a department store bathroom and is currently serving time (and, I might add, is being beaten senseless by the guards daily :))

I know people who SHOULD be in prison.

I know a couple of people in prison. My uncle and some kids from my school. One of them robbed the Dunkin Donuts then murdered one of the employees then burned the place down. She's only 16 and doing life...

What Hunter said. We heard recently that some mutual friends had actually been allowed to see and visit with her (for the first time in three years, possibly by mistake).

I am not sure. A friend (that I have not been in contact with for several years) is constantly in and out of prison and rehab (heroin).

But my brother was in for a while a few years ago.

Not that I know of, but I haven't kept in touch with everyone I know.

The brother of a friend, but I didn't meet him until after he was in prison. I guess that counts.
