An air mattress (well, actually a lilo) a couple of times. A settee many times. Never a hammockm a water bed or a Sleep Number bed though. |

| cerealkiller | posted 25-Oct-2004 1:18pm I sleep on a regular mattress. My wife sleeps on the Sleep Number bed. For Kate and those who don't know what one is, try www.selectcomfort.com. They are an automatically-adjustable up/down air chamber mattress.
Other than my regular mattress I sleep in the car on Saturday nights at work, and have been known to just sleep right on the floor. I like hard surfaces. |

| Irene007 | (reply to caviartaste) posted 26-Oct-2004 8:01pm > a regular extra firm mattress bed...
We bought a pretty firm mattress the last time and I regret it now. I wondered why I did that and I guess it's what I was told all my life (like sensible shoes or something...). Anyway, I hate that mattress! If I'm in it too long, I have lower back pain. Too long is like a lazy weekend where I go to bed real early with a book and sleep in as well. At one point, I have to get up! It gives me sciatica! I went on a trip a couple of years ago to the Gaspé area and landed in a motel by the water - it was cute and real old fashioned. When I sat in the bed; I sank into the middle and thought that I was going to have a bad night but I slept like a baby!! My Mom's the one who told me that firm mattresses were best and yet, she's the one with a marshmallow bed now! I know - I slept in it last winter and had a comfy sleep just like in the motel! Go figure... |
| caviartaste | (reply to Irene007) posted 26-Oct-2004 8:12pm oh I like my firm mattress - it's comfortable..but I spent alot for it...it has the individual coils...it's good! |
| Irene007 | (reply to caviartaste) posted 26-Oct-2004 8:20pm I bought mine in a fly by night operation. They settle in an empty warehouse and display supposedly overstocked merchandise to liquidate in a hurry... They were there for over a year! We bought our leather 2 seater couch there (I love that at least) but we didn't like the capped nails all over it - so they ordered one from Italy without them just for us! |

| Fomo | posted 31-Oct-2004 1:53pm I would love to have one of the new "memory foam" sets but I can't afford to buy one. The set I have is in good condition but, as I get older, I find it difficult to get a good nights' sleep. I am physically disabled and the with the mattress I use, I find it very difficult to get out of bed in the morning - however, there are worse things in the world! |
| Willow | posted 1-Nov-2004 7:30pm I can fall asleep anywhere, but I'm really comfortable on the floor for some reason. |
| bonniath | posted 3-Nov-2004 1:36am lots of times i will fall asleep in my chair in front of computer screen. sad, huh? but mostly just a regular old mattress bed; the room that's around it is what makes it special! |
