| dab | posted 25-Mar-1999 5:46pm Science Fiction Conventions are a good example of when I'd climb more stairs than usual. |
| gilly | posted 25-Mar-1999 6:36pm Also depends on which is more conveniently located, the elevator or the stairs. |
| steve | posted 25-Mar-1999 8:11pm Usually three, but it would depend not only on my energy level but also on whether I was carrying anything and, if so, what. |
| hunter | posted 25-Mar-1999 8:25pm In my office building, we pretty much have to take the elevator between floors (even one) unless we have the security code to a particular floor. |
| mandy | posted 25-Mar-1999 8:59pm hence my killer thighs |
| magbast | posted 25-Mar-1999 10:46pm i can handle four or five...any more than that and i'd rather ride up |
| magbast | posted 25-Mar-1999 10:47pm sup mandy...glad to see you made it...:) |
| jjg | posted 26-Mar-1999 7:55am It depends on the building. If the stairs are enclosed by doors and don't look inviting then I will use the elevator for short trips. If the stairs are open and people seem to use them then I'll use the stairs for up to two floors. Generally the stairs are quicker for one or two level trips. |
| drdt | posted 26-Mar-1999 11:01am Usually I will climb up to five flights of stairs. |
| Matteh | posted 26-Mar-1999 12:50pm I would depend on if I'm carrying something. |
| they | posted 26-Mar-1999 7:15pm Three or more usually, sometimes I'd walk three. |
| pandora | posted 27-Mar-1999 6:12pm It's strange to me that the numbered choices only go up to four, but I liked the survey. |
| jzp | posted 28-Mar-1999 8:21am more than 4 floors! |
| mandy | posted 31-Mar-1999 9:06pm yeah I'm here baby...*waves* Hi...They!!!*waves* |
| jaff | posted 1-Apr-1999 11:47am if i'm feeling fine enough, i'll walk up flights and flights of stairs given the time to do so. |
| Mandy2 | posted 6-Apr-1999 7:59pm It would depend on the wait. If I have to wait for longer than it would take me to take the steps then there is no point in wasting time. Plus, I can race whoever is with me, and IF I'm alone, I can race myself :o) |
| Eeah | posted 12-Apr-1999 2:35am I rarely take the elevator unless I have to. I usually go on them if I'm with someone else -- just because I doubt they'd want to take the stairs also. I'm claustrophobic so I dont handle myself very well when it gets crowded...I feel sick to my stomache for the most part..and I close my eyes... |
| Eeah | posted 12-Apr-1999 2:36am aroo! |
| eris | posted 12-Apr-1999 10:08pm It would depend on where the stairs were. Has anyone else here noticed that it's sometimes quite difficult to find the stairs in newer buildings (hotels can be just awful!). A couple of weeks ago I was at a con and found that I had to take the elevator up just one floor because the stairs were at the other end of the hallway and came out somewhere in the bowels of the hotel kitchen. |
| madamex | posted 15-Apr-1999 12:11am It depends on how high my heels are, and whether I'm wearing a skirt or trousers. |
| pandora | posted 15-Apr-1999 12:19am Ooh, I can relate to that. I always hated walking up stairs in a shorter length skirt. People get too close. Eww. |
| madamex | posted 15-Apr-1999 12:25am Hmm, I guess it also depends on my mood. If I'm wearing heels and a short skirt, I might or might not choose to take the stairs, depending on how I'm feeling, whether or not I'm wearing stockings and the likelihood of them showing, and whether or not someone else is around. Any of the above factors might work in either direction. |
| antony | posted 18-Apr-1999 11:03am I live on the 5th floor of my building. I try to always take the stairs. I always find it weird and lame when I see people in my building taking the elevator down from our residential building, and then the elevator up in our gym building, just to go use the StairMaster. |
| SueBee | posted 18-Apr-1999 4:33pm I actually love stairs, and hate elevators if they're crowded. When I lived on the second floor I only took the elevator when I was carrying bulky items. Also, I walked up the stairs of the Eiffel Tower just for fun. But it's true that sometimes the stairs are hard to find, while the elevator is right there handy. |
| mandy | posted 18-Apr-1999 4:56pm *singing* Love in an elevator........ |

| SHERRY | posted 19-Apr-1999 10:56pm JUST CAN'T HANDLE STAIRS ANYMORE! |
| DigbyOBare | posted 20-Apr-1999 10:37am Why tire myself? - I'll walk down. |
