| Enheduanna | posted 8-Jul-2004 4:08pm I mostly like them. |
| Zang | posted 8-Jul-2004 4:55pm I had a look at the link, and it didn't give me much of an idea what the comics were like. |
| Biggles | posted 8-Jul-2004 5:37pm I'm not familiar with them at all. |
| freebird | posted 8-Jul-2004 5:59pm not familiar with them |
| Iseult | (reply to Zang) posted 8-Jul-2004 7:28pm This question was mostly directed towards people who were already familiar with the comic. The link was there just for people who haven't heard before. |
| Zang | (reply to Iseult) posted 9-Jul-2004 9:57am I'm sure I've seen the character before somewhere, but I have no recollection of ever having seen an actual comic. I take it the website doesn't have any. I poked around a little and didn't see any. |
| Iseult | (reply to Zang) posted 9-Jul-2004 10:49am Okay, I found this - http://my.execpc.com/~engine/randimg.html There is a few here - http://members.aol.com/JTHM/ I can't find anymore. They're not really posted online. |
| Zang | (reply to Iseult) posted 9-Jul-2004 11:00am I like the artwork, but I can't say that the subject matter holds much appeal for me. |
| Iseult | (reply to Zang) posted 10-Jul-2004 12:51am I don't know, they are very intelligent and I like the view they hold, but although they method of representation is effective (eg through a merciless serial killer), I think it is a bit too gruesome for general viewing. |
| Dino | posted 10-Jul-2004 6:11pm I have never heard of them |
| LuridHope | posted 15-Jul-2004 3:06am Being a Gen-X'er myself, I can't help but harbor some disdain for entertainment of this nature. It harkens to the morbid goldmine struck by mainstream media in the 90's which found that they could make a quick buck by seducing a highly marketable and impressionable teen demographic with such obvious "life sucks, death is cool" gimmicks as found in the music of Marilyn Manson and movies like The Crow.
Yeah, life is miserable, nobody loves you, now go buy a T-shirt and be a "unique individual that nobody understands" with a bunch other screwed up kids just like you. (this is a general statement and is not directed at anyone) |
