A burrito, It tasted really good (and did not collapse), around 2pm, lunch, in a burrito place, not sure if it was healthy. |
| heyzeus1 |
a chicken sandwich, and beer. to be more precise, a not-so-healthy chicken patty on vienna tomato bread with onions, lettuce, tomato, and avacado...and busch lite. |

Busch? They still make that? Don't see that here in Cali. I don't drink beer very often but buy whatever is cheap if I do, like PBR. Had about 10 of those July 4th. Dang, kept burning my thumb with the cig lighter doing the fireworks. |

thats funny i hab pabst on the 4th too, and burnt my thumb also. i buy whatever is cheap, and try not to drink the same stuff over and over. i thought pabst when out of business a long time ago, but when i saw it in the store last week i bought some. i still think miester brau is the greatest cheap beer, but they don't sell it around here. if i lived in cali, i'd be taking advantage of some of those western microbrews, like rogue, pyramid, dillon dam. they don't seem to like microbrew out here, so you just cant find anything but the 'weak' stuff. |
| heyzeus1 |
do, cat, or not, those western roadside burrito stands are killer! (in a good way). i sure miss 'los betos' from tucson. |
cerealkiller | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 6-Jul-2004 5:48pm |
Yeah, nothing better than homemade burros. Mexican women sell homemade tamales out of their vans in grocery store parking lots here.
They have Pabst draft beer now here just like MGD.
I usually on the rare occasions buying beer get PBR or Old Milwaukee. To me, all beer pretty much tastes the same. As long as it is ice cold. And, after a few quick ones, you aren't gonna notice what it tastes like anyways.
It was hot, like 98 degrees July 4th, so we spent the day in our pool, had the grandkids over. Was interesting trying to drive to the fireworks stand to buy fireworks after about 6 beers, |

It was a white chocolate chip cookie about 2 hours ago here at work as a snack.
Yes it tasted good.
No it was not healthy. |

Last thing I ate was a raspberry preserves sandwich and a chocolate pudding cup at lunch which was from 10:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m.. I ate it in the lunch/breakroom at work and it tasted good. Healthy...the preserves were made from raspberries and the pudding provides necessary nutrients such as calcium and chocolate, so you tell me. |

Chocolate cake instead of dinner. Three or four hours ago, in my living room. I baked it myself, yesterday evening. It was very yummy. |

The last thing I ate was a slice of cheese crust pizza (vegetarian with pork as an extra topping) from Pizza Hut in Seoul. It was last night's dinner since I was too tired and lazy to cook. It was really overpriced and not so great. They forgot to give us the cheese crust dipping sauce and the cheese in the crust seemed extra salty and wet. I pulled the cheese out of the crust and gave it to my boyfriend. |

Oh, god... I'm eating a McDonald's Big Mac, but ONLY because I had nothing else to eat today and I was too lazy to pick up my own food. And, McD was the only place on the way to buy food without having to get out of the subway.
Did it taste good? Meh.
When was it? Two secs ago.
Which meal was it? A snack? The only meal of the day.
Where was it? In front of the computer.
Was it healthy? Uhm... well, all this calories give energy. |

How do you make raspberry preserves sandwich? |
| darkshadowsseeker | | (reply to Iseult) posted 6-Jul-2004 10:34pm |
You get a jar of raspberry preserves, some bread and a knife. You spread the preserves on the bread and you eat it. You can do the same thing with any kind of jelly, jam or preserves that you like and of course, you can use any kind of bread you like as well. Haven't you ever made a jelly sammich before? |

glad you have it warm. lucky you. i wore a sweater and a wool hat all day. this is not normal. i think its been above 90 here only 2 days this year. i remember those tamales, what i miss is the authentic tortillas, the huge ones that you can eat all by themselves cause they taste like butter. |

i had a snack that consisted of microwave popcorn. and yes, it was good because i melted butter for it and salted it. i ate it while watching "the real world" reunion show on mtv. i suppose popcorn isn't exactly unhealthy, but my doctoring it up probably took away from it's healthiness. |

Oh yeah, I did, I get it. It's just that lately I've been watching these cooking shows on the TV and they were making some really compicated fruit sandwitches so I thought that this one might be one of those. |

Just swallowed my last bite of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It was delicious, especially because I was ravenous. I'd say it was pretty healthy, considering it was made with whole-wheat homemade bread, and preservative-and-other nastiness-free jelly and pb. I'm quite satisfied overall with the experience. |

Nope, I don't do complicated ANYTHING when it comes to food. I prefer simple, uncomplicated dishes. To me, they always taste the best. I do enjoy watching techniques on cooking shows, however, even though I know I'll probably never use them. My favorite is GoodEats with Alton Brown because he cuts through the BS and tells you exactly what works and why...even my son enjoys watching him. For example, I've always been told that when you are baking a cake you should grease the pan with a shortening such as Crisco and not grease using butter or margarine. I never understood why until Alton Brown explained that the water in butter or margarine will not only make the bottom of the cake not brown as well, but can make it have a tendency to get soggy. He also explained why it is better to use unsalted butter when making cookies, cakes, etc. I never understood why until he explained that the butter already has naturally occuring salt in it and salt is generally an ingredient in many cookie and cake recipes, so using unsalted is better. I've learned a lot from Alton Brown and GoodEats. |

Quick-cooking oatmeal (not cooked) with blueberry yogurt, orange tea and salt mixed together. It tastes okay. I'm eating it now, when I'm not typing. It is sort of an appetizer for a late lunch, although the purpose is opposite of appetizer. It is supposed to take the edge off the hunger while I decide to really fix. I'm eating in the office. It is pretty healthy. High in fiber - and Wilfred Brimley (spelling?) used to do commercials about how healthy oatmeal is for somebody or something (probably not memory). |
