Just because, but we're all star-stuff so I suppose we're related |

just because. i'm no existentialist, so they would shine regardless of anything i think or do...
my father, on the other hand, expresses belief that when he dies, all of existence will be gone. what a crazy viewpoint. |

I love this! |

Well, it is... for him anyway! So it's not so crazy. |

i just have a hard time seeing things that way. |

Just because.
And lots of them don't even really shine, it just appears so. some aren't even stars but planets and some are already dead.

Just because...I think, anyway.

That's 'cause you're living and breathing... You'll see one day! We all will... |

Anytime I read the phrase "we are all star stuff" I hear it in my head in Carl Sagan's voice. |

The stars shine just because of hydrogen fusing into helium. |

I really don't think that it is "always about me". |

whos to say?
we may go on in the same existence, we may not, or we may vanish, or be born as a turtle. who knows...pointless to wonder about. there is no answer until you are dead, and even then there may not be one. |
| msgman | | posted 16-Jun-2004 3:25pm |
Look at the stars; look how they shine for you and everything that you do. |
cerealkiller | | posted 16-Jun-2004 4:27pm |
I don't pay any attention to the stars |

Revision is frying my brain and causing random questions to pop up into it, in much the same way that random genetic drift leads to evolution. Although only probably. Nothing is certain |

"Nothing is certain" - and now you're into quantum physics, as well! |

Sometimes I notice them and get all existentialist and wonder if they shine for me.

That reminds me when my son was but 4 years old. He asked me, as he was looking at the ducks upon the lake in our back yard; "When am I going to be a duck?" My daughter still thinks that was a hilarious question (she was only 6 at the time...) - I thought his question had a lot of depth for one so young. He's grown now and he still shows that kind of deep thought... |

hmm. neat story!
when i was 3 or 4 and my family would pass a certain spot on the highway between colorado springs and denver, i would always point and say 'look! there is the elevator to heaven!'
they said it was always at the same spot, but there was nothing there. |

Hmmm... Makes one wonder what little children see. I saw things when I was young but I'm not so sure everyone else did since they didn't mention it (like bright saucers in the sky) but as they didn't have any reactions to it; I thought that it was completely normal so I didn't question it. I remember what I saw and have never seen anything like it since... |

i heard voices as a kid, not inside my head, but from the sky. the couple times i remember that happenening, it was speaking a language i didnt understand anyway. |
Irene007 | | (reply to heyzeus1) posted 30-Jun-2004 7:54pm |
