It's easier for me to think when I'm looking down. If I need to watch where I'm going, it's better to look straight |

Look at the stars to see the possibilities but look at the ground to see how to get there! |

I think we need people to look at both and people who focus straight ahead as well. Also people who look everywhere. Diversity of focus means that nothing gets missed and no-one gets left behind. |

although i do prefer to look up when it rains |

One or the other, intermittently and straight ahead if you're driving... |
| heyzeus1 | | posted 16-Jun-2004 12:02am |
depends on the path |

Depends. Resting, look at the stars. Moving, look ahead. That could work literally or figuratively. |

Both of course.

Both, of course... the real debate is over how much resource to put into each. People generally vote for "ground" (short term) stuff, but once in a while we do "star" stuff and it opens doors for us... |
| moonstone | | posted 16-Jun-2004 8:35am |
Both. Sometimes it's nice to lay down and look up at the stars. |

If you're standing still, feel free to look at the stars. If you're moving your feet you'd best look at the ground. Each has its place. |

Looking at the stars is something I tend to do when I'm out in the countryside. You don't see many here in the big city. When I look at the stars, I'm usually standing out in the open. I wouldn't do it so much if I were walking, except maybe the ones near the horizon.
When I'm walking, I tend to look at the ground a few steps ahead of me. The sidewalks around here are pretty crowded and I'm often in a hurry to get somewhere, so I tend to check out what people are doing ahead of me and plan my route so as not to bump into people. |

Sometimes the one and sometimes the other. |
| judgescratch | | posted 16-Jun-2004 12:44pm |
Of the two, I'd say the ground. |
cerealkiller | | posted 16-Jun-2004 2:59pm |
Not much reason to look at the stars, better off watching where the hell you're walking. |

All of us are in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.
Ideals are like stars; you may never reach them but they will guide you to your destiny. |

By looking straight ahead you can look at the stars and the ground |
| caviartaste | | posted 18-Jun-2004 5:04pm |
Sometimes it's better to do one, and sometimes it's better to do the other......we all need change.....For everything, turn, turn, turn,,, There is a season, turn turn turn........ |
| justjulie | | posted 19-Jun-2004 7:47am |
to practice to expand your vision is ideal so that one my see the stars and the ground at the same time, as well as everything else for that matter |
ElvisFan67 | | posted 19-Jun-2004 11:03pm |
The ground, when I'm walking. |
| Dino | | posted 20-Jun-2004 10:56am |
Look ahead, but check the ground.
Stars are for when you stop and pause. |

good one...dreamer always look at the stars but you can't make your dreams come true by just looking up, there has to be alot of hard work, keeping an eye out for the ruts in the road so you don't fall...but you also have to look ahead just in case of fog |
| ROCKMAN | | posted 22-Jun-2004 10:02am |
Looking straight ahead, I think is the smartest. |
