Not really. |
| judgescratch | | posted 6-Apr-2004 11:27am |
Yeah, I should go...I'd like to get an EKG done. I've been putting it off because the health plan I'm on is crappy. |
Enheduanna | | posted 6-Apr-2004 11:49am |
Not particularly. I'm going next week for my annual exam. I'm not adverse to it, either. It's just that time of year. |
Lahdee | | posted 6-Apr-2004 11:50am |
yes I should make a doc apt. today but I dont feel like going. Pretty bad when I'm too sick to feel like leaving the house. I think I have strep throat again. |

I see doctors fairly regularly. But, mostly I see my gastroenterologist (evey 6 months). |
| freebird | | posted 6-Apr-2004 12:55pm |
No because I am always there and will be going back on the 28th of the month. |

Naturopath and midwife, please. I've had enough of doctors to last me a while. |
| ASexyBabe |
I don't like them |
| Glassa |
No, no reason for me to go to the dr. right now. |
| thevelvetcure |
Let's see, I need anti-biotics and glasses for sure, however I don't care for drugs so I try to tough it out for a while, and well, the glasses, that's an affordability issue there |
| ihatespiders |
I have to go see the dr. for refills on medicne for acid reflux and bloodpressure pills in 4 months I get a check up every 6 months and I dont want to go but have to anyway. |
they |
I have recently seen one and would like to see one again.. and I will.. I have some follow up questions from my surgery. |
| Dino |
I general check-up wouldn't harm - as long as I don't have to go out of my way to get it. And considering going to the doctors takes time and effort I really can't be bothered. |

When I go into a doctor's office I feel like I've been abducted by aliens. I haven't been to a doctor since about 99. |
Iseult |
Yes, I ought to see the doctor some time soon. |
| citrustwist27 |
I would love to go to a doctor |
Lahdee |
I saw the doctor today and I do have strep throat. Oh well, at least the meds were free and I didn't get a shot. |
ElvisFan67 |
The only time I go to a doctor is when I get an illness no over-the-counter medication can cure. |
Irene007 |
Something medically has been bothering me, but I can't say that I'm not going to see a doctor. I will, just as soon as I stop doing all the things that he'll tell me to stop doing anyway... |

FUDGE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I think most Americans go to their doctors much more than they need to, for the slightest little ailment, like we think doctors should be able to work miracles in this day and age. Modern medicine can do amazing things, but often I think my health is better when I stay away from the doctor's office. I think we should seek medical attention for emergencies and extreme illness, not for every little ache, pain, and sniffle. I'm disgusted with how the pharmaceutical companies make such huge profits. We have TV commercials for prescription drugs! I find that despicable.
Having said that, I do need to go to the doctor soon to see about getting a refill for the nasal spray that has actually managed to keep my allergy symptoms at bay. That stuff is so good I'll pay $20/month for it. (It's actually about $50, but luckily my health insurance pays the rest.) |

Yes I need to see an eye doc for my glaucoma. I can't get medical care because I'm only a "seasonal" employee (who makes 8 bucks an hour, so can't afford individual med plans either). I am thinking of checking out medical marijuana but that's also probably going to be too expensive. However, this may be better than nothing, and better by far than waiting at some clinic for hours which is what people here have to do when they don't have medical care-I can't do this because I have to work and my pay would be docked if I went to a doc. |

If there ever is anything that bothers me medically about myself, I'm first in line. Right now I don't have any reason to see a doctor so I checked "I have recently seen a doctor". FYI for my pinky finger! |

Powerful answer, did somethin' happen? |
| ROCKMAN | | posted 7-Apr-2004 10:01am |
I have already been recently. Won't go again untill next winter. |
| mandy | | (reply to timothy) posted 7-Apr-2004 10:18am |
Oh yes...I recently had a bad experience with doctors. I don't trust them. I despise them, actually. |
| caviartaste |
I have recently seen a doctor for a major thing...
and I have a seemingly minor pinched nerve thing in my neck thats been bothering me...but I don't want to see anymore doctors b/c I'm having surgery for something else next week....and I just don't want to... |
| Porklet |
I have not been to the doctor in over 8 years. |
| Porklet | | (reply to mandy) posted 7-Apr-2004 5:41pm |
You despise all doctors? |
cerealkiller |
A dentist actually. I have 3 teeth in a row that are breaking and disintegrating away bit by bit. I don't have the $800 in co-pay so I don't go. Get infections periodically where cheek swells up. |
| BerrieGrrl | | posted 7-Apr-2004 10:13pm |
I need to go to the eye doc and get a stronger prescription...it sucks having horrible eyesight |
| mandy | | (reply to Porklet) posted 8-Apr-2004 12:56am |
Yes...... |
| Porklet | | (reply to mandy) posted 8-Apr-2004 1:42pm |
Is it the medical philosophy, the medical system, or bad experiences? |
| mandy | | (reply to Porklet) posted 9-Apr-2004 1:25am |
Yes, Yes and yes! |
romkey | | posted 10-Apr-2004 11:10pm |
I would but my eyes aren't working! |
romkey | | (reply to SueBee) posted 10-Apr-2004 11:13pm |
I deal with doctors like tech support... they're the last resort. I know enough about how to take care of myself that I won't go unless I really fail... even then I agonize over whether it's really worth going (note that I didn't agonize at all when I broke my ankle ). I won't take medication unless I'm certain I need it... I agree that people go way too easily. Antibiotics are way overprescribed... that's not helping anyone. I wonder if people would go so easily if they understood basic medicine, physiology and nutrition better.
I do get an annual checkup about every year and a half... |
SueBee | | (reply to romkey) posted 10-Apr-2004 11:22pm |
A broken ankle is a very good reason to go to a doctor - especially when it's trashed as badly as yours was! It's a shame that more people aren't interested enough in their own health to learn more about it. I guess many would rather just leave it all in someone else's hands. That's not generally my approach to things.
Wouldn't that be an annual-and-a-half checkup? |

I will wait until the left hemsiphere of my tiny brain is hanging on by it's last glia, then I might call the doctor. Or sometimes when I stub my big toe. |
| RGirl | | posted 11-Feb-2006 9:09pm |
I have no choice but to go to the doctor regularly. |
