| daver | posted 17-Feb-1999 9:04am I own a cell phone, but I don't use it and I never wore it. |
| Wicksy | posted 17-Feb-1999 11:07am WOW : So far, 8 out of 9 wear glasses. Surely that's not a global trend !?? |
| daver | posted 17-Feb-1999 11:15am **Wicksy: I wonder if the fact that everyone here uses a computer has anything to do with it? |
| Wicksy | posted 17-Feb-1999 11:41am daver : it could well do. |
| reality | posted 17-Feb-1999 11:48am wear glasses.. own contact lenses, but they were a hassle so I stopped. I own a Laptop, but I have a carry case with a shoulder strap so I guess it falls into both categories. |
| bill | posted 17-Feb-1999 1:04pm Is there some connection between eye correction and gadgets? |
| Pomeranian | posted 17-Feb-1999 5:38pm The only gadget I carry with me at all times is my Gameboy. |
| drdt | posted 17-Feb-1999 5:45pm I ought to be wearing glasses and I will soon have a mobile phone. What do these things have to do with one another? |
| Wicksy | posted 18-Feb-1999 4:09am Because I read a research article in an English newspaper which stated that a higher percentage of contact lense/glasses owners own these gadgets than people who have adequate eye sight. |
| lizzie | posted 18-Feb-1999 9:53am I wear glasses, and carry a cell phone and pager. the cell phone is mine, the pager belongs to the slave drivers that provide my paycheck twice a month. |
| Handle | posted 18-Feb-1999 5:47pm Maybe a higher percentage of people who own those gadgets need to have eyglasses due to the fine print of instruction manuals. Correlation does not imply the direction of causation. |
| phi | posted 18-Feb-1999 8:16pm whoops, I forgot I owned a cell phone. I used to own a laptop, but gave it away. That leaves the glasses and pager as items I actually ever use. |
| North79 | posted 19-Feb-1999 12:31pm I consider mobile and car phones to be useless except for businesspeople as well as people going on very long car drives. Pagers are more logical, although personally I would hate to have to wear one. |
| Nyssa | posted 19-Feb-1999 2:03pm Car phones can also be used as an emergency equipment item - in case the car breaks down. This is very important in many areas of the world. It can mean life or death in some colder areas, even for relatively short drives, for older or impaired people. |
| seth | posted 19-Feb-1999 8:30pm North79: A mobile phoneis useful if you have friends. |
| dpolicar | posted 24-Feb-1999 4:46pm I own a cellphone but don't carry it; I sometimes carry a laptop but don't own it. |
| they | posted 28-Feb-1999 4:39pm Glasses and a car phone.. I only use my glasses to drive at night. |
| patty | posted 10-Mar-1999 5:42pm I have a pager so I can always be reached no matter where I am in this world and when I am not home my friends and family can still get in touch with me |
| ferretlover | posted 11-Apr-1999 3:19am i also wear a dog collar at times |
