| Iseult | posted 8-Dec-2003 4:00pm No, I don't. I would use Your Majesty on Monarchs/Royalty because I have to. It would be a bit too scandalous if I didn't. On everybody else, I'd use 'Sir'. I don't see why someone who's a Duke requires myself to call them by some special name. I use Sir to address every human being of male sex that's at least five years older than myself, be it a begger on the street of the Bishop or Mayor or Cardinal. |
| Zang | posted 8-Dec-2003 4:02pm An Ambassador or a Bishop are addressed as "Your Excellency", a Cardinal is "Your Eminence", a Duke is "Your Grace", a Mayor is "Your Honour", a Monarch is "Your Majesty", The Pope is "Your Holiness" and Royalty is "Your Royal Highness". Numerically that's: 22135647 |
| Biggles | posted 8-Dec-2003 4:09pm I know Duke = Your Grace Monarch = Your Majesty Royalty = Your Royal Highness The others I guessed with varying degrees of confidence: Ambassador = Your Excellency Mayor = Your Honour Pope = Your Holiness Cardinal = Your eminence (really think this is wrong) Bishop = Your Grace |
| Zang | (reply to Biggles) posted 8-Dec-2003 9:49pm For a second there, I thought you had aced it, but the last one was wrong. Darn! I was all ready with the ticker-tape parade and everything! |

| ihatespiders | posted 8-Dec-2003 11:07pm Im not too found of embassadors, my sister met the embassador to China by getting her car slamed into with a US government car. The embassador pulled out on the highway and hit my sister. They didnt do anything to the embassador and my sister thinks she was drunk the US government only paid the hospital bill, She had a new car at the time and it was totaled and they didnt pay for the car or the toewing, and it took forever to pay the hospital bill. She tried to sue but you cant sue an embassador or the government. If youre an embassador to the USA, laws do not apply to you. Im through ranting now. |

| thevelvetcure | posted 9-Dec-2003 5:04pm I'm so confused, to me the survey is testing us to see what to call the pop, a monarch, etc etc, but Your Royal Highness is #7, and on the options, it lists it as the worst. ...lost |
| southernyankee | posted 9-Dec-2003 7:37pm I dont know because I never cared before. Your honer sounds like something you would call a judge. |

| darkshadowsseeker | posted 20-Dec-2003 3:44pm Nope, and since I'm unlikely to meet anyone that carries these titles, I couldn't care less. |
