| Enheduanna | posted 8-Dec-2003 10:42am It doesn't usually bother me. |
| Wicksy | posted 8-Dec-2003 10:45am Its not too bad |
| southernyankee | posted 8-Dec-2003 10:46am yes. It generally helps if its mine and its not spalshing all over the place though. |
| Zang | posted 8-Dec-2003 10:48am It depends on a number of factors. The most important one is probably whether or not I am directly involved in dealing with the situation. If I am called upon to perform first aid on someone, my mind is on the task at hand, and I don't react to the gore. If I am a passive observer while someone else deals with the situation, I'm much more likely to become squeamish. It is also more likely to bother me if it is my blood and if it is being spilt in large quantities. Even if I was the one dealing with the emergency, once it is all over and the patient has been transfered to the care of a hospital, I can get squeamish if there is a huge puddle of blood on the floor or something. |
| ROCKMAN | posted 8-Dec-2003 10:48am The sight of blood dosn't really bother me too much, as long as there are no guts involved with it. |
| judgescratch | posted 8-Dec-2003 11:11am Someone elses, yes. An animal's, yes. My own, no. |
| bill | posted 8-Dec-2003 11:16am Mostly, it's no problem. I often watch the phlebotomist draw blood from my arm. But, recently my dad told me this long story about how he cut his leg and it bled a lot and it did make me feel somewhat queasy. |
| dora | posted 8-Dec-2003 11:19am Yes if it's just blood. If there's anything else involved like limbs or guts...no. |
| DeeDee17 | posted 8-Dec-2003 12:01pm Yes, as long as it's not mine. |
| Glassa | posted 8-Dec-2003 1:23pm Yes. It doesn't bother me at all. I love looking at gory medical pictures. It's one of the reasons I would have loved to have been a surgeon. |
| anoddoblivion | posted 8-Dec-2003 2:09pm Blade and Blade II are awesome! Real blood, in front of my eyes, from a wound? Of course. Mine or someone elses. I still hate giving blood, though, because of the needle, and hey stick iit in you and just leave it there! Yuck! Youch! Ewww! |
| ihatespiders | posted 8-Dec-2003 2:43pm I cant stand the sight of blood unless its just a little cut. I dont watch gory movies, and I saw a lot of gory accidents on the Kenedy Express when we lived in Chicago. |
| Maarten | posted 8-Dec-2003 3:19pm No problem. |
| Iseult | posted 8-Dec-2003 4:03pm Yes, usually. I'm more disgusted by the smell of meat, though. |
| Biggles | posted 8-Dec-2003 4:12pm Yes - I've never seen a really nasty accident with lots of blood but I have worked with the National Blood Service and handled blood, and also used a lot of blood in practicals at university. It doesn't bother me that much. |
| Biggles | (reply to anoddoblivion) posted 8-Dec-2003 4:13pm My brother fainted watching Blade |
| jettles | posted 8-Dec-2003 4:37pm OH YEAH!!!! no problem at all!!! |
| ElvisFan67 | posted 8-Dec-2003 6:04pm It depends on how severe the bleeding is, plus the nature of the bleeding. Internal bleeding tends to freak me out more than external bleeding. And it's twice as worse when bystanders go into a hysterical panic. |
| Galomorro | posted 8-Dec-2003 6:05pm Only if it is mine and just small amounts. YUCK. |
| anoddoblivion | (reply to Biggles) posted 9-Dec-2003 12:03am I'm sorry. The fighting in Blade is just so awesome, as is the storyline, esp. in Blade II. It was very innovative. But I can agree it's a little too bloody and gorey. I usualy think actions no big deal, but now I see why it can be. |
| mandy | posted 9-Dec-2003 12:50am I adore it |
| Dino | posted 9-Dec-2003 4:35am Yes I can. I quite like it too in a 'jaded beauty' kind of way. |
| Amanda | posted 9-Dec-2003 12:55pm I can stand it, but I certainly don't enjoy it! |
| starrpickle | posted 9-Dec-2003 1:51pm in real life i can stand the site of it but when people describe medical stuff or those medical shows make me squirm |
| cerealkiller | posted 9-Dec-2003 2:42pm Obviously |
| tigerlilly50049 | posted 9-Dec-2003 2:53pm I once watched my own leg being stitched up from a dog bite so yea id say i can stand the sight of blood ,mine or someone elses. |
| thevelvetcure | posted 9-Dec-2003 4:57pm Sure bring it on...put i don't want to see anyone's insides. I can't stand watching the surgery cameras on TV...go figure |
| lily333 | posted 9-Dec-2003 9:10pm It doesn't usually bother me, although I have never really seen large amounts of it. |
| ROCKMAN | (reply to dora) posted 10-Dec-2003 9:23am I agree with you, the blood don't bother me as long as there's no guts or petruding bones sticking out. |
| paulyw | posted 10-Dec-2003 2:24pm If it is just a trickle of blood, no problem; however, if it is gushing out, then I can't stand to see that. |
| Traviedoll | posted 12-Dec-2003 12:02am Yes, as long as its not going through a long needle! I like blood, it looks nice and tastes a tint salty *don't ask* |
| autumnlight | posted 13-Dec-2003 10:11pm Yeah, I'm okay with gory stuff |
| sonikJ | posted 13-Dec-2003 11:19pm Depends on how severe the bleeding is...and I can't stand it when it's my son's. |
| caviartaste | posted 15-Dec-2003 12:15pm Yes, apparently I can....helped a girl out of a bad car accident once...without thinking about it. |
| they | posted 29-Dec-2003 2:20pm Doesn't bother me.. a knee bent the wrong way is a different story. |
