"Oh my God that's so original--ahahahahahahaha!"...Do you ever hear jokes about your first or last name that, from your perspective, people "repeat"?

"What Is In A My Name?"

Example:
Name: Joe
Repeated jokes about my name: "Hey, Joe--waddya know?"; "Hey, Joe--where you goin' with that gun in your hand?"; Joe-Schmoe; "Jo-jo was a man who thought he was a woman..."; "not your ordinary Joe"

Get the idea? What jokes about your name may have "gotten old" by now, yet people still sometimes still deliver it, somehow thinking they've got to be the first person who has thought of it?

Yes, about my surname when I was at school. Mostly from my technology teachers - they were so stupid but they thought they were so clever...

The only joke I've heard about my name is "Hi, Jack". my foods and clothing teacher used to say that, and then say "Can't say that in an airport." She found it hilarious. I didn't.

That Hi, Jack one is old and unoriginal. I like "Did you remember the BALM?"

Well, the upside * smile * to having a name that no one else has is that those kind of jokes never get old. People usually can't pronounce my name, but they can have it their own way when their names don't mean 'the food of gods'.
My last name is a different story. It's pronounced very similarly to 'burger', but it's not how you pronounce it. It's annoying. I wanna smack people when they make that connection.

Mandi Pandi
A-man-duh

Surname: Gibson
Are you Gib's son?

No one can pronounce my middle name correctly. It's Lawren and everyone pronounces it as Lauren. But, it's actually pronounced Law-wren. I've never heard any jokes about it, but it bugs me when people can't pronounce it after I've told them how before.

I got a lot of "where's Buffy?" when I was in school (as in the children in the TV show Family Affair - not the Buffy we know and love these days).

I've not had any puns on my surname since sixth form college, thankfully.

Since my first name is relatively common, most people don't feel the need to make 'fun' of it or with it, but depending on the cultural reference I probably wouldn't mind.
If, for example, I asked someone a favour and they replied, "I'm sorry Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that" in a monotone voice, I'd probably laugh.

Mason wouldn't work with the last name of Glass. People would call him Mason Jar.

Tons of possibilities.

Can't really say that I do...more often than not I get a completely different nickname, based off of my personality, or get called by my last name (in middle school). The name Chris is so freakin common that it's ridiculous.

Though the only joke about the name Chris that I've heard was "Pissy Chrissy" which my friend called his brother, who in turn called my friend "Potty Scotty" * laughing out loud *
