Do you or anyone you know hunt deer?

Yes & No, I knew somebody who hunted deer, but they passed away 18 years ago.

I don't, but I'm sure I know somebody who does. I don't know who, but I'm at Oxford and there are plenty of people here who happily go off and watch foxes ripped to shreds by packs of hounds for fun at the weekend, so I'm sure some hunt deer as well.

Do any of the Brits know - was hunting deer with hounds banned a few years ago, or am I creating memories again? Let's hope the Government uses the Parliament Act to finally get the hunting with hounds bill through the Lords - I won't be impressed if they chicken out....

I'm not sure about in the UK, but hounds aren't used to hunt deer in the states.

I have relatives who belong to a local hunt club.

My dad used to hunt ducks. He hasn't done it since I was an infant though. One of my uncles had a bunch of guns and used to go hunting, but I'm not sure if he ever shot a deer. I seem to recall it was bear. One of my friend's went hunting with his dad years ago. They were hunting grouse though...

Yes, I know lots of people who hunt deer. My 2 brothers went deer hunting this morning and killed 4 deer. YES, 4. I didn't believe it when they came in and told me, so I had to go check it out. My oldest brother's truck was full of deer. Kind of sickening seeing those dead deer laying there. Then, I watched them clean the first one. That's even worse. But I've been around it all my life, so it's not so bad anymore.

I've been hunting myself many times. Never killed a deer....unless you count the one I hit with my truck about 4 years ago. Bad experience!

Yes, my roommate hunts with a rifle, a friend of mine uses a compound bow for deer hunting.

What about muzzle-loaders?
I've had a few hunters ask if they could hunt on our land and we said yes, I don't know them very well, but they seemed like decent people.
We have deer around our place a lot. Recently a buck scraped the bark off a small tree in our front yard, hopefully the tree will be OK. Anyway, I recognize that the deer population is best controlled by hunters, though I'm not interested in killing an animal myself. I would accept and eat deer meat though.

We still have deer meat in our freezer but they're farm raised. They don't have that wild taste.

I once did...before I married and had my son. I went with my Dad quite often, and bagged a few of my own. I was a kill shot with a rifle and with a bow. Now my roommate and my husband do the hunting.

My ex husband was an avid deer hunter...rifle and bow.
